I'm on a multi-week cycling tour. On the very first day, I lost brake pressure on my right brake. In Nürtingen, a modern bike shop offered me a repair service that would take several days, as they didn't have the spare parts in stock. We happened to pass by Mr. Eckstein's shop – he had the brake system in stock and repaired the brake within half an hour – at a very fair price – and I can now continue my tour to the Czech Republic without interruption and safely. I'm happy and incredibly grateful to Mr. Eckstein = excellent service!!!

I had two flat tires and a pretty battered bike, and I needed a safe, rideable bike as quickly as possible so I could ride to work the next day. Mr. Eckstein took my bike on, repaired it at a completely reasonable price, and even offered me a replacement. Mr. Eckstein and his service are unbeatable; he is very friendly and trustworthy. Fast, uncomplicated, and you feel safe on your bike, knowing that an absolute expert has taken care of it. I highly recommend him! Thank you very much, Mr. Eckstein.

I can definitely recommend the bicycle service. After precise troubleshooting, a prompt but high-quality repair was carried out using nearly new replacement parts.

Super helpful! I had a flat tire after a 5km ride, but I was still able to stop by outside of opening hours. I'd give it 6 out of 5 stars :) Thank you!

When I picked up my bike, I discovered that Mr. Eckstein had installed used brake levers. However, he charged me for a new brake lever... On top of that, he was very unfriendly. The price for the used brake lever (and labor) was outrageous. Stay away from garage repair shops.
Owner's response
Good day Mr. Wellmann,

I would like to address your account: it is true that a used brake lever was installed. However, you didn't give me the opportunity to explain that this was the only way to quickly restore the bicycle to a safe, roadworthy condition, as the replacement part was not currently in stock and would have had to be ordered. Consequently, the price charged was for the used brake lever, not a new one. It was my mistake that I didn't inform you of this directly on the phone, but it's unfortunate that you resorted to insults instead of letting me explain the procedure.

We happened to be driving by and asked about adjusting the saddle. He also adjusted it higher, took a minute, and immediately charged me €5. I think it's extortionate as a service. That's not how you attract new customers.
Owner's response
Dear Ms. Koopmann, thank you for your feedback.

I would be happy to explain the situation you described. I reassembled the saddle suspension you had disassembled correctly, adjusted it to your desired height, and fine-tuned it again after your test ride.

Not only materials, but also labor costs have their value. This is also transparently documented by the Federal Guild Association, which serves as the leading organization and employers' association for the German bicycle and motorcycle trade. It's unfortunate that you portray the labor costs in the bicycle and motorcycle mechanic trade as exorbitant.

We took our two e-bikes there for a general check-up. We discussed what needed to be done and everything was carried out to our satisfaction. The price/performance ratio was also good. It took a little while to agree on an appointment time.

I don't even know where to begin... The fact that he takes the time to get to the bottom of every problem and fix it? The fact that he's always happy to advise you on how to adjust your bike, sometimes even creatively, if necessary, if there are any issues? His more than fair prices? The fact that he trusts you enough to provide a high-quality replacement bike if the repair takes longer than expected? Or simply the feeling that you're in safe hands with him in every respect and know that no matter what's wrong with your bike, he'll find a solution. Everything you could possibly want when it comes to bikes!!

Excellent advice and prompt customer service for my bicycle. I was particularly impressed by Mr. Eckstein's friendly and honest manner. My bicycle will also be brought in for next season or in case of a technical defect! Highly recommended!

"Expensive business" A leaky tube needed to be patched. I received a full service for a 10-month-old bike with a remaining warranty. Apparently a communication problem when accepting the order??? The owner's insight was limited. I can only recommend agreeing everything in writing beforehand! I definitely won't be doing this again.
Owner's response
Good day Mr. Wagner,

Thank you for your feedback. We appreciate constructive feedback, which helps us optimize our processes and thus satisfy our customers. However, there are a few things in your message that need clarification. Claiming a "remaining warranty" requires contacting the seller of your bicycle, which did not happen in this case. Therefore, your statement based on the "remaining warranty" is invalid. Furthermore, good communication requires that the customer describes their issue themselves so that we can clarify the order. In your case, you sent your father—not at the agreed-upon time, but even outside of regular business hours—who left the two bicycles with us with the instruction to "check everything over." I carried out my work professionally and invoiced me as usual. Contacting you was never possible and clearly not desired by you, as you did not leave us your personal contact information and never appeared in person—neither to accept the repair nor to pick up the bicycles.

(Note: The last sentence about contacting you appears to be a separate, unrelated comment and should be omitted.) We kindly ask you to verify the accuracy of the information and provide constructive feedback. Thank you!
