Unfortunately, I had a bad experience here. I think changing a tire for €40 is a bit overpriced. The service staff was rude/condescending, and I had to wait 24 hours for the whole thing.

I took my e-bike there, which I bought used from a private seller a year ago. I was worried it hadn't been a good purchase: creaking noises, occasional jerky freewheeling while pedaling, and then it started rattling loudly when the motor was assisting. Everything was repaired as discussed beforehand, and they even threw in a new pedal. Fair price, very competent and friendly team. My e-bike is like new again, I'm very satisfied!

It's a real shame when a "specialist shop" is no longer able to service forks and shocks. Everyone complains that brick-and-mortar stores are dying because everyone only buys online, but the real reason is that there are unfortunately fewer and fewer shops that offer added value. If everything is out of stock anyway or has to be sent away because "special tools" are missing, then no one should be surprised... Hooray for online retailers.

I went there because of a supposedly leaking fork. I was told, somewhat rudely, that it was just grease coming out. When I asked about brake service (oil brake), I was told they only do that for certain brands and that I should have it done where I bought it. Thanks for nothing...

Super friendly and excellent advice... He looked at my used bike before I bought it and was able to immediately tell me the pros and cons. He was even able to point out the defects after just a few quick checks. The advice at other bike shops in Nürtingen was very poor. A really great guy... I can highly recommend this shop.

I took my bike there because the rear spokes were broken. The original quote was around €50 for replacing and truing the wheels, but it ended up being almost €80 (as agreed beforehand) because a new rim was installed. The brakes were also adjusted. Price-wise, I think we're just about at the level a good bike shop should be charging. A short time later, I noticed that both pedals were cracked, the chain was squeaking, and the brakes were worn down. A reputable shop wouldn't have let me back in that condition without pointing it out. I'm torn between two and three stars. My conclusion: the service was at the lower end of what I expected (the job was done, but that was it), and the price was at the upper end. This won't be my go-to bike shop.

Unfortunately, I can't recommend it. I have problems with the hub gears; gears are slipping. I called ahead and was told to come by. I came with my Gazelle bike, to which Mr. Eckstein said he didn't repair that brand and that the rear wheel probably needed replacing. So, I went home disappointed and called the workshop at the XXL branch: If it's just the gears, we'll adjust them from time to time. So much for Mr. Eckstein's expertise and friendliness.

Completely incompetent shop! Once a bicycle is sold, you can expect no cooperation whatsoever, unless it's legally enforceable. I bought a Bulls Lavida Plus in February 2015, had to return countless times for repairs, and also had the required inspections and brake pad replacements done there (a total of three times!). They didn't notice that the rear brake caliper was mounted too high. When I changed the brake pads myself for the first time in autumn 2017, I noticed a wide ridge and uneven wear on the pads. Mr. Eckstein tried to convince me that this was nothing unusual and that I simply needed new pads. I asked him to contact the manufacturer to ensure I received a correctly mounted brake caliper. He asked me who was supposed to pay the mechanic's bill. I told him he should sort that out with Bulls. He then refused to carry out the repair. I contacted the consumer advice center to ask if the delay in assessing the damage, caused by the workshop's incompetence, might affect the deadlines, but I would have had to file a lawsuit. So, with a heavy heart, I had the bike repaired at the ZEG dealer Heilemann in Weilheim (very competent and friendly): The brake discs were also damaged and were replaced, and the brake caliper mount had to be ground down. These people don't work for free either, but they take their customers seriously! When I picked up my bike, there was an identical model at Heilemann's for repair: also purchased from Eckstein, also with a problem with the rear disc brake. Eckstein either didn't notice the design flaw or deliberately overlooked it to avoid the associated work. The customer is left holding the bag. I advise against buying from them! Zero out of five stars.

I strongly advise against buying a bicycle from Zweirad-Eckstein unless you can do repairs yourself. I will not be buying another bicycle there. The workshop leaves much to be desired, and unfortunately, as a woman, I wasn't taken seriously when making complaints. Mr. Eckstein behaved completely differently when I had male support with me.
