One would think that a bicycle retailer would also be interested in servicing the bikes they sell when they have problems. Unfortunately, I was proven wrong. Specifically: the battery of an e-bike I bought from Trautwein is malfunctioning. It no longer charges. When I asked them to look into it, I received the (at least to me) astonishing answer from an employee that Trautwein only checks/tests Bosch batteries. Since my battery is a Panasonic, they couldn't (or wouldn't?) help me, and I was promptly sent home empty-handed, battery and all. That's not what I expected from good service. A real shame.

Mr. Aul gave us fantastic advice 🤩 Thank you so much 😎✌️ We're absolutely thrilled with our KTM e-bikes 👍

They're all incompetent; they can't even properly route brake lines, let alone adjust a gearbox correctly. The staff is also very unfriendly. Avoid this place!!

The workshop is a disaster. My girlfriend had her e-bike there for a tire change. When she picked it up, it wasn't displaying any speed. I immediately saw that the rear tire was installed at such an angle that the magnet on the spokes was too far from the sensor on the frame. So I sent my girlfriend back to Trautwein. Their solution there was to wedge something between the spokes so the magnet would be close enough to the sensor again (instead of installing the rear wheel straight)... Unbelievable...

I bought an e-bike here; the service was excellent, and I was able to test ride several bikes both indoors and outdoors. The shop is very well-stocked and nicely decorated. I also received good advice on bike locks and suitable lights. A few weeks later, my light mount was vandalized, and a part for the light was missing from my lock. Trautwein replaced the mount and also ordered the replacement light part, both free of charge – incredibly accommodating.

We've already purchased 6 bikes. The advice and sales were always great, and we were satisfied. Now one of our e-bikes has a defective motor. We had the bike on site, but were able to pick it up after 2 days. They said they no longer had the software for it, so they couldn't repair it. They didn't even look at it or try to find the cause. We tried to get further help and wanted to clarify with the manager if there were any options... he wouldn't have a clue anyway. We wrote an email and asked about the possibility of ordering a replacement motor... but it was ignored. We find it difficult to buy a new bike there, even if the offer is good. If you have problems, you don't get any help. That makes us sad 😢 Especially since the bike isn't very old and is otherwise in great condition.

More show than substance. Unfriendly staff, unwilling to compromise on price, and disappointing advice. After 10 years, I wanted to buy a bike again and deliberately chose Trautwein because I'd had good experiences there – instead of ordering online. Unfortunately, it wasn't worth it. I won't be buying a bike here again.

Yesterday, a branch knocked me off my bike, so I urgently needed a new headset cap and, more importantly, a star nut. I tried two shops in Tübingen without success ("We have it, but not for retail" and "We'd have to order it"), so I finally made the slightly longer trip to Trautwein, where I've always been able to get spare parts from their workshop. The cheap star nut for €3.95 saved my week. Thanks for that!

Terrible service. It's been 20 years since I've ridden a bike. I was given an old bike to get around Tübingen, but I wanted to invest in something better. I saw bikes I liked, but was told they were youth bikes. I was given no option but to look for a larger size. There wasn't one. I had to ask for help finding a suitable adult bike that suited my taste. I was reluctantly helped. With one I did like, I was told to ride it in the shop because it was raining outside. The seat was much too high, and I could barely stand up. The employee just shook her head at me. I tried to explain that I felt unsafe riding and needed a little time. My wife, who is German, explained this again in perfect German. The employee was impatient, shaking her hand and staring at me in disbelief as I fidgeted around, feeling nervous and completely overwhelmed. I then dared to ride my bike into the store, and people walked in front of me, including other employees. When I turned around, the employee just shook her head at me. It was a humiliating experience, and I wanted to leave that store immediately. I would have bought a bike if the staff had actually shown a bit of expertise and consideration for the customers' needs. I'm going to a store in the west of the city that's supposedly better.

Top-notch experience selling e-bikes. Extensive opportunity to test the bikes. No pressure, just fair and competent advice. The shop has its own workshop. I'd be happy to come back.
