In the past I had a good shopping experience here. However this time I was shocked. Particularly at the prices. I appreciate quality, but was berated for requesting a product in a lower price category as someone who wad looking for cheap rubbish. Not so. I am not going on an expedition to the Arctic, I just needed a lightweight camping mat for occasional use for a good price. €350-€400 is too much for my needs. I went round the corner to another store, got excellent advice and reasonable deal I was happy with. Very disappointed with Neue Alpinist as I like to support small retailers. So unfriendly and this shop doesn't attempt to understand the customer needs.

What an awesome store to get your outdoor gear! Staff is very knowledgeable and patiently showed me the various ski jackets they had. I told them what I wanted and they had the perfect ski jackets for me… at 25% off!!! I searched all over Nürnberg looking for a ski jackets today, this is the BEST outdoor gear store. I also like they are privately owned and have a large sustainability and environmental mission. I’ll be going here from now on for my gear! Mahalo!!!

Great store! A wide selection of good quality items. The service was fantastic – attentive, friendly, and highly knowledgeable. We are very satisfied and found everything we needed. We will definitely be back :)

My go-to outdoor store 😊. Expert advice and friendly service. I can't understand some of the negative reviews. It's probably true that "you reap what you sow." Yes, naturally the prices are higher here than online; after all, they have to run a physical store, but in return, you get personal service and advice. It's great that stores like this still exist.

I wanted to look for lightweight equipment for a long hike, but was very disappointed in this store. The salesperson was very arrogant and a know-it-all. He wasn't familiar with the products I mentioned and even claimed they couldn't exist, for example, a water filter that, among other things, reliably removes viruses and bacteria, and which I've already used several times in Asia. He also said that I would sweat profusely on my aluminum-coated mat, which is simply not true. He also claimed that a tour with a backpack weighing around 8 kg was impossible, although I had spent four weeks hiking in high alpine terrain with exactly that weight without any problems. During the conversation, he suddenly said he was no longer interested in all that and wanted to go to lunch. Very rude and disrespectful. In the other outdoor shop nearby, however, I received friendly advice; they took their time and had expert knowledge. Unfortunately, I would definitely not recommend this store.

The advice was absolutely competent and friendly. However, when I didn't want to buy the backpack right away, the staff became extremely rude and threatened to ban me from the store. I didn't buy the backpack, the ban is irrelevant, and I don't go there anymore anyway. It's a shame about the friendly advice I received at the beginning.

Prices are high. Check online before buying.

Went here with my son looking for a backpack. Horrible experience. The person working there was very unfriendly. He got upset at us for looking on the internet to find out more about the backpacks we were interested in buying as we don’t speak the best German. Said we should go home and do our research and not to do it in his shop. So we gladly went somewhere else and spent our money. I wouldn’t recommend this shop to anyone. Very sad there are still people/stores out there like this.

Very nice experiences buying there so far. We have purchased 3 different times there and all of them we received great advice and patience. The prices are fair, not much different from online and the advice you receive there is actually saving you money from messing up when buying the wrong stuff online (in my case). And the prices are also lower than in other local retail shops.

As always, very professional, knowledgeable, patient service. Backpack, jacket and now shoes, I keep leaving with items that fit me like a glove. An exceptional shop and awesome service.
