I called to ask if they could repair the brake on my stroller. The employee on the phone was friendly, but the boss in the background was shouting angrily that he didn't take on any strollers. The employee then told me to come in anyway, and he'd take a look. So I did, and apparently the brake cable is a special part they don't have, and the design is incredibly complicated anyway, so they didn't do the repair after all. I ended up buying the "special part" for 8 euros on Amazon and replacing it myself with a regular pair of pliers, which took less than a minute. Thanks for nothing!

I had a flat tire last week and had to cycle 20km home. The weather was extremely bad and rainy. In a pinch, I went to the local bike shop (unfortunately 15 minutes before closing time) and asked if they could quickly change my tube...there were no customers there! The salesperson (shop owner) wasn't impressed, but then said he could do it quickly. Luckily, I quickly asked how much it would cost...he wanted €50 (€10 for the tube, €30 for changing it, and €10 because it had to be done quickly)...are you serious? That shop is a complete no-go for me! I then walked 2km further to Lucky Bike and bought a pump (which I wanted anyway), a tube, and tools for the repair for €36, and changed the tube myself in 5 minutes! What are these tradesmen thinking these days?

Excellent! They addressed my truly ridiculous problem immediately, honestly, and with a realistic assessment, and even though I deserved it, they didn't laugh at me 😉 On the contrary. I received a call the same day informing me that they had implemented the agreed-upon temporary solution until the replacement part arrived, and at a perfectly fair price. Fantastic! Thank you so much, I'll definitely be back!

I was only there to have a small repair done to my bike, but the guys were very friendly and competent. I'll definitely come back for any further problems or new purchases.

Yesterday, after calling the bike shop beforehand, I dropped off my bike almost on the spur of the moment. I received help almost immediately: they fitted a new inner tube and tire (front wheel) within 30 minutes!! (Elsewhere, you have to wait weeks for a bike repair.) Attention paying customers: It's best to bring the exact amount in cash! Card payments are not accepted. The friendly and helpful service from the shop staff was also a plus.

They didn't want to repair our cargo bike because it was too much trouble for them with the panniers. Mr. Kaczmarek said on the phone, "To be honest, I'm not keen on doing this." He said it was impossible to properly access the axle to repair the inner tube of the flat rear tire. The usual €35 wouldn't cover it. It would cost more like €50 to €100, depending on how long it took. €100? To fix a flat tire? I picked up the bike and took it to a competent repair shop. It cost €35, was a brand-name product, and took 15 minutes. I understand if modern cargo bikes are too complex for someone and they aren't properly trained or experienced enough to tackle them. In that case, it might take too long, and it's no longer financially worthwhile. But they should have said so in the first place. We know it's possible to get things done quickly, thanks to the competition we've been working with and will continue to work with in the future. All the best, both professionally and personally!

Owner's response

Dear Mr. Hoffmann,

As I already told you on the phone, I need to see the bike first, and that for a normal bicycle, the repair costs are around €35. Therefore, I unfortunately cannot repair a cargo bike for the same price, as the labor involved is much greater. You were already aware of this beforehand, so I don't quite understand your assessment. You were informed in advance that a cargo bike is more expensive to repair than a conventional, standard bicycle, depending on the complexity of the repair.

Regards

I took my bike to have it trued. They weren't trued afterward, and I was told that my air pressure on the Magic Mary was too high at 2.5 atm (welcome to 2020)... I didn't receive an invoice for the work. Afterward, I had it trued again at my trusted dealer, and lo and behold, it worked! Plus, it was cheaper at my trusted dealer... I can't recommend this shop to anyone. My experience with Kaczmarek's service department was very negative.

Owner's response

Dear Customer,
unfortunately, we are not familiar with your business, so I strongly suspect you are confusing us with someone else.

Furthermore, we perform all work to the best of our ability, but not all wheel alignment issues can be perfectly resolved. It's also important to consider how the rim runs, not just the tire, as this can lead to confusion. If you were dissatisfied, you could have brought the wheel back for a goodwill repair.

However, since we don't know you, I believe this is likely a case of mistaken identity, as already mentioned.

Unfortunately, my experience wasn't good either. It was my first time at this shop because of a flat tire. Everyone was quite friendly, although it took two days to get a new tube installed, which they informed me of when I dropped it off. What's worse, I think, as many others have already written, is the price. I also think it's a complete rip-off! The entire tube change cost €35. At other bike shops in Munich, I've paid around €20 for brand-name products. A bicycle tube costs around €8, and it takes about 15 minutes to change. I'd like to have that kind of hourly wage myself. They don't accept card payments. In the future, I'd rather go to the competition or do the repairs myself.

Owner's response

Hello

We exclusively use brand-name parts at their retail prices. We're not Amazon, so you can't compare apples and oranges. Our prices are standard for the industry, like in the Munich area. I think we're one of the fastest in Munich in terms of processing and turnaround time, and our prices are reasonable for the region. Elsewhere, you wait 4-6 weeks from the date of your order for your bike and save maybe €5, if that. So we don't quite understand your review!

I was just there looking for spare parts. I met a friendly, competent employee who looked for parts in the warehouse for me and gave me a completely fair price for a gearshift lever. We were able to chat a bit along the way. Very pleasant experience, I would come again.
