I'm both a car driver and a cyclist, but I won't take your association seriously until you finally succeed in uncompromisingly demanding that all members and cyclists have and use lights as darkness falls. It's insane what's tolerated here every day in road traffic, posing risks to life and limb, as well as the continued happiness of everyone involved.

If you do a test like I just saw on TV you should wear a helmet in my opinion

I wanted to get my new bike coded today, so I hurried after work to arrive on time. The stated time was "until 6:00 PM." When I arrived at 5:50 PM, they were already packing up and flatly refused my request to code my bike. Even the fact that I had rushed all the way from Bogenhausen was dismissed with a reference to the weather. Strangely enough, the ground and the tent being taken down were dry, and the worst thing one could say about the poor, scapegoated weather was gray clouds and a hint of rain on the distant horizon. One has to wonder why someone would volunteer if they then use it to treat others badly. This certainly isn't how you recruit members for the ADFC (German Cyclists' Association).

ADFC self-service bicycle repair workshop: €10 or ADAC membership required. Narrow basement; somewhat chaotic organization; barely enough tools when three people are working at once. The service staff's friendliness and competence vary considerably. We repaired our bikes together, and you can even learn something in the process. Tips: Arrive well ahead of time or, ideally, book an appointment online in advance; otherwise, expect long waits. Definitely mention that you bought the bike from a dealer instead of online; otherwise, you'll get some disapproving looks...

They've woken me up at 7 a.m. twice this month because they think they have to start their stupid demonstration with extremely loud music and then stand there at the square for ages. It's unnecessary; there are people who work shifts and would simply be happy to sleep in for once…

The team members were very friendly and helpful. The bike coding process was super quick, with no waiting time; it took a maximum of 10 minutes. Highly recommended!

Excellent place for bike lovers. One thing to note: they also offer classes for adults at some locations and have lovely warm teachers.

For just €10, the problems with my bike were fixed (within reason). Toni, his apprentice, and everyone else on the team were very friendly. They also took plenty of time to address my issue. Therefore, I can wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone who wants to get their bike in top shape for a small price :)

I think the self-help workshop is absolutely fantastic, even if non-ADFC members have to pay (although €8 is nothing compared to "normal" workshop fees!). You get advice and knowledge here to repair your own bicycle, which costs much more!
