Great workshop. Top quality work, the right guidance and all that for very reasonable prices. Dont make a fuss, just get on the bus.

Most unfriendly person I have ever met, (the old guy) insulting, obviously hates his job. Just give up if you hate your job so much. The young guy was nice and obviously embarrassed but what cann he do if the boss is a jerk?

The service here is great and also good value - you just have to accept and work with their system: arrive about 5 minutes before 9am, wait your turn, they quickly assess the problem or listen to what you need…then you come back at the end of the day to pick your bike up (they call first and advise the cost, pay in cash). If you turn up in the middle of the day expecting to have a long discussion about options etc etc you will be disappointed as they are too busy to entertain you. I found the owner and his staff to be good fun. I can’t believe the one star reviews; surely the problem is the reviewers attitude if anything based on my experience. Yes, it’s a bit unusual but that’s the charm of it.

I can't remember if I've reviewed Joe's Garage in the past but I wanted to put in a good word for him. I've been sending my bike to him for the last 8 years or so. Despite the negative reviews here, he is actually a really nice fellow! For one, he never repairs anything he thinks isn't worth repairing, he's very up front about it and he will call you to let you know if he thinks the repair costs are higher than previously estimated. On top of that he charges a really fair price. Yes, it's true that he will send you away if you show up too late in the morning. He accepts bikes ONLY just before his opening times ie. a few minutes before 9am and he has no problem sending you away if you show up in the afternoon. He will also ask you to pick up your bike before closing time - primarily because he doesn't have the space to store them and because he has to be considerate about his neighbours. It's really important to him that his customers don't park outside his shop as it would inconvenience his neighbours. At the end of the day, you can be rest assured he'll get your bike fixed right :-)

I like to do my own bike repairs generally. But I’ve called here to have some repairs carried out, as well as sought advice on a number of occasions. Yes, the guy who is probably the owner, and could feasibly be named Joe, doesn’t fall over himself to welcome you into the store, but don’t be perturbed; he’s a nice fellow and straight with customers, which based on some other bike store experiences I’ve had in Munich, is not always a given. I’ve recommended Joe’s Garage frequently. There is a caveat: I suspect that his clientele is price sensitive so if you have a high-end bike this may not be the right place to come to. This is a workshop, not a bike spa.

I was in this "fahrrad reparatur" and I had a really really bad experience. The owner is really not a good person. Making fun of you if you don't speak german properly and he does not really care about what you are saying. One of the bicycle pedals was broken and I needed a new one. I went on Saturday and he said that I needed to go on tuesday morning: "It is better to come early so you are the first one". I asked how much it would be, he said 16-17€, for sure no more than 20€. He opens at 9:00 and I was there at 8:45. I had to leave the bicycle there because he was not going to make it in the morning. I had to sign a paper where it is written the following: "For each day that you leave the bicycle there, he charges 5€"!!! He called me in the evening at 18:00 saying that it was ready. I went on wednesday and he asked me 27€. He put a pedal of another colour and another dimension. First and last time in this place.

I like to be fair. I think a shop deserves a bad review ONLY if they are really incompetent, refuses to serve you, is beyond good reason, or has been dishonest with me. Joe is none of that. I don't know Joe personally but my husband and I have been bringing our bikes to him for the last 4 years. Even though he often doesn't wear a smile, he's been very honest with us, charges really reasonable prices, and always checks with us (calls us on the phone) before he makes a major repair. And he always tells us if something isn't worth repairing. That's something we really appreciate! So don't let his apparent unfriendliness put you off. His work and that of his assistant's are all that matters when it comes to your bike. 😉

I went to this place today to get my bike fixed and he told me to come back in the morning. So far so good, even though he was far from polite. Then I parked my bike out in the street, so that I would not need to walk it around with me back to the building I work (like 2km away from Joe's garage). And he told me I could not park it there, because it was just for clients. But I am a client! I told him it was furthermore a public place and there was nothing in the law forbidding me to park my bike there. Then he told me he would not fix my bike if I park it there! Unbelievable, just the worse. It's one of those cases in which the business owner basically tells you that he already has enough clients and does not give A DAMN ABOUT YOU.
