I bought a Pros Pro XT01 stringing machine from Mr. Knipfer. I'm absolutely thrilled with it. After about six months, the machine started displaying numbers on the electronic gauge during the stringing process, constantly changing and counting down. However, the weight returned to its original setting after a few seconds. I didn't think much of it. I regularly cleaned the clamps with brake cleaner and lubricated the attachments with lock oil. I also regularly cleaned the tensioning mechanism and treated the tensioning mechanism for the weight with lock oil. Then, mid-stringing, the tensioning wheel suddenly slowed down considerably, and the set weight was no longer reached. The jaws also stopped closing properly, and I couldn't string any more clothes. I initially thought the motor was defective. I immediately went to Mr. Knipfer to request a repair. Mr. Knipfer then spent a considerable amount of time investigating the problem and was able to resolve it within a few days. The machine had to be completely recalibrated. Mr. Knipfer also gave me a tip: I should wrap the string around the tensioning mechanism twice before tightening it. Since then, I've been doing it that way and always clean the clamps and the jaws of the tensioning mechanism thoroughly. I'm so glad that Mr. Knipfer exists who can repair and calibrate stringing machines, and I hope he'll be around for a long time.
