I was at this repair shop a few weeks ago. All that was needed on my bike was to fix the gear cable to the derailleur with a screw. When I dropped off the bike, I mentioned that the gear cable was new and didn't need replacing. When I went to pick it up the next day, I was told that the gear cable had been replaced after all. I was then presented with an old gear cable that was bent by almost 90% in one spot! I was very upset, but there was nothing I could do, and I had to pay almost €40 for this "repair"! This is pure extortion, and I wouldn't recommend anyone have their bike repaired at this shop. There are several bike mechanics in the area who will do the repair faster, fairly, and for less!

I took my bike in for repairs/a check-up because I noticed it was having problems. They put in a new chain and replaced the gears. I paid €135, and they didn't even adjust the gears properly 🤣🤣 The chain kept jumping off every time I shifted gears and it kept getting tangled. I went there four times, and each time they adjusted something different, cited a different problem just to avoid looking bad. They said my bike was old and the gears weren't up to date 🤣🤣. Then I had an accident because the chain jumped off so suddenly, along with the derailleur. Thank God I wasn't hurt. The bike is now scrap.

A great shop, very fair prices, they fixed my rear wheel within 2 hours and then even fixed the rattling noise for free. Highly recommended!

I was very disappointed that they refused to service my e-bike. The comment that I have a cheap e-bike seemed pointless; apparently, they don't need the business. I've noticed in other reviews that the tone (writing style) of the employees leaves much to be desired, not the potential customers. Think about that.

I went to Fahrrad Herbst today without an appointment because the gears on my bike weren't shifting smoothly. I received immediate, very competent, and very friendly help – I can absolutely recommend Fahrrad Herbst!!

Dear Sir or Madam, I have used the "Fahrrad Herbst" workshop twice and am not at all satisfied with the service provided. First, I brought my wife's bicycle to you because it had leaked hydraulic fluid. After the inspection, it turned out that both brakes (front and rear) were not adjusted correctly. The brake pads are constantly in contact with the brake discs, causing a continuous grinding noise. This is a clear defect that should have been identified and professionally rectified during a proper inspection. I was charged €40 for this, which is completely unjustified given the substandard work. Despite this negative experience, I subsequently entrusted my own bicycle to you. It was explicitly agreed that the brake hose would be replaced, the brakes renewed, and a complete inspection performed. Defective parts were, of course, to be replaced. I repeatedly emphasized that I place the utmost importance on flawless functionality and am very meticulous. The workshop owner personally confirmed to me that checking and adjusting the brakes is part of the inspection. Upon picking up my bicycle, I discovered the following: • The saddle was mounted crooked. • The bicycle rides worse than before I dropped it off. • The wheel alignment was not adjusted. • The brake pads on both brakes (front and rear) are constantly in contact with the discs. • Both wheels were not properly trued, resulting in a significant increase in brake pressure, particularly on my bicycle, at one specific point. When I inquired about this, the workshop manager stated, and I quote, "I can't fix a wheel wobble." Frankly, this statement left me speechless, as wheel truing should be a fundamental skill of any bicycle repair shop. For this inadequate service, I was charged €162. Furthermore, I was charged twice for the inspection – once for labor and once for the time – even though, according to the owner, brake adjustment and wheel wobble correction were already included in the inspection. When I confronted the workshop manager about this, he simply replied that there had been "no need" for it. For example, the rear brake also needs to be replaced. This statement is completely incomprehensible given the existing defects. Furthermore, I found the workshop foreman's repeated remarks that my bicycle was "old" to be inappropriate. The bicycle dates from 2019, was anything but cheap at €1,500 when purchased, and must, of course, be in perfect working order – regardless of its age. I hereby demand that you rectify the defective work immediately and completely and restore both bicycles to the contractually agreed condition. The €162 (my bicycle) and €40 (my wife's bicycle) you have invoiced me for must be justified by the corresponding work performed. Should proper rectification not be carried out within 14 days, I reserve the right to refer the matter to the Chamber of Skilled Crafts, the consumer protection agency, and, if necessary, my legal counsel. Pros: Dropped off my bike yesterday for front brake repair. Picked up today, reasonably priced, brake handles incredibly well. Cons: The shop broke the ties securing my basket to the bicycle and didn't bother informing me or resecuring it in place. I turned a corner and all the groceries I had just bought went crashing into the street. VERY DISPLEASED. My advice: Use this shop, but be sure to check your bike over completely before you leave.
