The people of the shop were very friendly and helpful. I went to get hiking boots and had not much prior idea about selecting correct model. They helped me to select a fitting pair and I am very happy with my new boots. Also: they speak fluent English at the shop, which was even more helpful for me. Will definitely visit again when in need of hiking supplies.

The store have almost top brand for hiking like Patagonia, Arc'teryx, Mammut, La Sportiva, Columbia, Osprey Deuter etc. The staff spoke english and was very frendly, they give me all the information I need. So I end up buyng a Patagonia t-shirt.

They have good knowledge about what they are selling and they have the best service regarding outdoor equipment I have ever experienced. Can't recommend more.

The guy working here (sorry didn't get his name) speaks fluent English and he gave me great recommendations for super comfortable hiking shoes. Few days later I hiked for 6 hours, my legs hurt tremendously for three days, but my feet were in perfect condition! I would recommend this shop any time.

Excellent service.Quick, friendly and professional. Highly recommended. Worth the time and money. Nicely selected products of all kinds for traveling and hiking. Focus is truly on quality. Staff actually uses the products themselves and knows what works best. So far all recommendations proved to be right.

Despite the small space occupied, they have an excellent variety of climbing gear especially climbing shoes. The staff was very helpful and friendly.

Staff was incredibly knowledgeable and helpful to both a veteran hiker like myself in finding just the right equipment as well as my friend who was looking for her first kit. They switched gears instantly in helping both of us to our individual needs and skill levels. Variety of gear was also great and provided a good selection

Purposefully overcharged for an item. I bought multiple things so I didn't notice at checkout. However, later when I took the item out of the bag I noticed the sale sticker had been torn off, and the receipt reflected that I paid full price. I went back to the store to confirm that the same items where on sale. I confronted the man who checked me out, and he denied removing the sale sticker. I asked why I paid full price when the other items were on sale. He didn't have an answer and finally one of his coworkers stepped in and gave me my money back. I was a tourist and it may be that the salesman takes advantage of out-of-towners thinking that they won't be back. Be cautious!
Owner's response
Dear Andrea, I just read your review two days ago. I confronted all of my team members with the situation you explained, but nobody could remember a situation like this. So I cannot give an exact answer to what went wrong in this situation, but I think it was just a big misunderstanding. We are very sorry that you had this experience at our store, but we are definitely not the type of people trying to take advantage of tourists, guests or locals. The way we do our business is selling the best outdoor brands and giving as much service as we can - everybody can bring us their damaged products even if they didn't buy it in our shop and we try to give them a free repair or a new product free of charge; everybody can use our bathroom; we give free water to fill up water bottles; if you have to repair some stuff and we have to send it to the brand we don´t charge extra for it; everybody get´s information where to go/climb/eat/chill...as good as we know it. We don´t write any "higher" prices on products and give a discount on it (like others, mostly big stores do). If you want another color or a bigger size or an item we don´t have we will try to order it without any extra costs for every customer. There are two guys working just 3 days a month in our store because they´re students, perhaps you had one of them and he didn't know exactly how to act correctly. It might have been that there were some same products with different prices, and we´re getting new staff every few months, if an article was on summer sale and we get the exact same article in the winter season we have to turn off the reduced price - because it´s the same article. Perhaps somebody forget that on the two other products. But this doesn't happen on purpose and not at all "extra for tourists". We can just say sorry for the experience you had in our shop, but I think a 1-star review is not what we should get for that. I hope that your 1-star review doesn't express your complete experience with us - after all your money was given back to you without any problems from a colleague working more often in the shop (that´s what I understood in your review). Don´t hesitate to write me a mail if you don´t understand my answer (I hope my English is well enough, otherwise I´ll ask my American colleague to write you back), or give me information how the guys in the shop looked like, so I can talk to them. We would like to see you back in the store if you´re visiting Nuremberg and sending you the best wishes, Bastian - bastian@travelundtrek.de
