Such a great gym! The grading concept is fun and playful and it encourages everyone to give things a try. It's an old school gym with old school setting that really encourages you to become a strong climber. Also, the cave is by far the best set cave I've ever climbed in. This is such a 💎

A truly fabulous gym. It is quite old school in their style and setting but if one adores that style or loves climbing on boards this is the place to got to. Their blocs ar enit just your usual plastic hold but also use a variety of real stone hold as well as wooden holds. The original outdoor based climbing spirit is brought indoors extensively and perfectly. While it is quite small, cramped and confusing where the routes go, but once you get used to it a little you will find some gems of boulders. It feels like one giant spray wall with well set routes. I did not expect it to be such a great place. If you are into crimping, deep locks and well hard boulders definitely visit.

It's on a smaller side as the gyms go, but it has an old school feel which is cool. Routes are tricky and well thought of. There is a cool tunnel with a lot of roof climbs, not many larger gyms have anything similar. Definitely recommend to visit. They also have a shared membership with the Flashh gym, which is my gym of choice in Hamburg.

Very cool gym with interesting routes, also for beginners as well. It has a bit of old school vibe, but I totally loved it (and was looking for that). The staff is really kind. The prices are also reasonable. Totally recommend it!

I have a deep appreciation for gyms like this and the role they have played in growing and sustaining the sport of climbing over a longer period of time, but unfortunately I think their place is nearly irrelevant in the modern scheme of things. I went by because it was close to my hostel, but I think my time would have been better suited going to another gym. The convoluted setting and labeling system, old and sometimes unpleasant holds, cramped and crowded spaces overall, etc. It definitely has a vibe that some may prefer, and might be a better experience to go with friends, but I will probably opt for bigger and newer facilities when I visit in the future.

Owner's response

Hi John, thanks a lot for your feedback!
As you mentioned times have changed and gyms have evolved dramatically. However there is quite a lot of people who feel lost in the bigger gyms and prefer the more personal atmosphere.
Same is to say about the setting. We obviously can't fulfill the huge empty walls with clean and easy to read setting but also we do actively prefer the more oldschool feel of "real" climbing that also includes reading the boulder first. Besides that the tight setting makes over 200 boulders in our tiny space possible. There will never be anyone bored here. As a nice side effect you can create your own boulders as the whole gym can be used as a spraywall, which in modern gyms is not possible.

In total it seems for you a bigger, more modern gym is probably the better choice but that's more a matter of taste than quality :)

(If you agree with that explanation a better rating would be higly appreciated.)

Really good bouldering gym! The routes are fun and provide a nice variety of challenges. I was a little confused with the labeling system at first and felt like it is not the most safe bouldering gym because of the tight space. The music had great taste too!

Super chill bouldering gym. The geometry of the interior is fascinating and it makes for some interesting bouldering problems. Also, their setting style is fun, all the routes kind of meander over each other. Worth checking out if you’re in the area.

Very nice little, well-maintained place: Friendly staff, mixed crowd, good atmosphere, lots of routes - also beginner friendly. The sauna was a super cool extra (towels available for rent) and it is cozy and affordable to chill out in the lounge area and have a beer :)

Really fun problems and a great chilled out atmosphere. A bit small so it's very cramped at busy times with a lot of people. Lot's of good problems for intermediate and advanced climbers but not so many for beginners. Best time to go is at midday on the weekend.
