The workshop destroyed the brake piston while adjusting the front brake. They refused to cover the damage because, according to them, the brake pads were not installed properly. Strangely, the brakes/pads have worked without issue for the past four years. There were also inconsistencies in the description of the damage: The owner's official email stated that the damage occurred during a test ride with heavy braking. On site, we were then told that the damage occurred during normal application of the brake while the bike was hanging on the repair stand. When assessing the damage, the workshop manager became loud and aggressive. We are now repairing the damage ourselves.

Thank you for your feedback. We would like to clarify the situation.<br><br>The bicycle was in our workshop due to accident damage – the original service call had nothing to do with the brakes. During the inspection, the brake piston popped out of the caliper when the front brake was applied. We then checked the brakes and discovered that the wrong brake pads were installed. Instead of the intended 4-piston pads, 2-piston pads were fitted.<br><br>These incorrect pads cause the pistons to be unevenly supported and can become misaligned or pushed out when the brakes are applied – which is exactly what happened in this case. We informed you of this immediately. During our conversation, you explained that the bicycle had previously been in another workshop, or that your son had changed the pads himself. Since the rear brake is a 2-piston brake and the front brake is a 4-piston brake, such a mix-up can easily occur.<br><br>We would like to emphasize that the damage was not caused by our work. The defect was already present when the bicycle arrived at our shop. For documentation purposes, we took photos of the installed brake pads, which clearly show that they were incompatible with the brake system.<br><br>That the brakes functioned for an extended period despite the incorrect pads was likely pure luck, but not an indication of proper installation.<br><br>It is important to us to always communicate openly, transparently, and respectfully. Unfortunately, the pickup situation became emotionally charged on both sides. We deeply regret this. While such situations are understandable, it is of course our aim to always remain calm and professional. Fantastic service! I had a bike fitting done here and was very impressed. The team is professional and provides detailed explanations of all the adjustments. Since then, my ride has become noticeably more comfortable and sporty. I'll definitely be back and highly recommend Threeoak.

I had my bikes serviced there. They were competent and incredibly friendly, offered great advice, and the service was excellent. They even managed to fix the creaking handlebars, which I'd taken to my previous dealer twice, and he never managed to resolve. A well-deserved five stars. I dropped the bikes off on Saturday and picked them up on Monday. Fantastic!

If you're looking for expert advice and premium bikes, you've come to the right place. I found my perfect endurance bike at threeoak 😍. Previously, I searched in vain at large bike shops until I was referred to Dean's. At the competition 🤮, I was annoyed by the impersonal advice and poor service promise. Dean is sometimes very busy, managing sales and the workshop simultaneously, but I didn't want to be simply fobbed off. I wanted to take enough time to test ride and compare bikes.
