A great bike shop. I've bought several bikes here and they've always been great. Even when my bike (a mountain bike in the woods) suffered serious damage, I received expert help.

At least I'm one experience richer. I specifically didn't buy the bike from a large chain because I wanted to support small, independent retailers. Was that a mistake? The service was incredibly expensive. I was shocked when I saw the bill. There are other shops in the area that are much more customer-oriented. I would steer clear of this shop now. Dear Mr. Müller, I ride my bike 2-3 times a week along Eschersheimer Landstraße, so it's not off-road. You give the impression that I'm riding an unsafe bike and constantly emphasize the expertise of your workshop. The friendliness, helpfulness, and competence of your workshop team are undeniable. But surely you wouldn't want to have a new windshield installed after a visit to your car repair shop because bird droppings were found on the old one and it might impair your visibility, would you?

Owner's response

Dear Mr. Alimoradian,
Thank you for your feedback – even though we cannot accept your description in its current form.
Your wife brought your bike to us, citing problems with the gears and brakes. During the initial consultation – in your wife's presence – it was clearly determined that the rear brake disc, brake pads, sprocket, and chain were worn. It was also clearly communicated that this was a more extensive repair with corresponding material costs, and that the crankset could possibly be affected after the test ride.
Only after you were informed of the expected costs and we received your consent did we begin the repair. Your KTM is a high-quality bike, and the required spare parts are priced differently than for more basic models. You were aware of these facts.
Therefore, your retrospective description of it as "incredibly expensive" and "uncustomer-oriented" does not reflect the actual process. We stand by our work, our advice, and the complete transparency we provided to you and your wife beforehand.
I'm absolutely thrilled with Fahrrad Müller! Upon entering the store, I received a friendly welcome and excellent advice. The employee took plenty of time to understand my exact needs and wishes. I particularly appreciated that the bike wasn't just sold to me, but was individually adjusted to my height and riding position. You immediately notice that true experts with a passion for bicycles work here. The service was first-class, honest, and personal – something you rarely find these days. Many thanks also to the workshop team; the initial inspection, including my special requests, was perfectly implemented. I can wholeheartedly recommend Fahrrad Müller 🚴🏻‍♂️

Owner's response

Thank you so much for your great feedback! 😊
We're delighted to hear that you felt so well looked after by us and are completely satisfied with your new e-bike. Our goal is to provide every customer with the perfect riding experience – it's even better when it's so appreciated.
A big thank you, also on behalf of our workshop team, for your praise!
We wish you many enjoyable and safe kilometers on your bike and look forward to your next visit. 🚴‍♂️💨

Best regards,
Your team at Fahrrad Müller Oberursel

My bike's crank arm was broken, and I asked the mechanic to replace it. They did it within 20 minutes. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. I highly recommend them!

My gearshift needed adjusting and the brakes needed bleeding. The local mechanic wanted to replace both components immediately and charged €200-300 for it. I ended up doing it myself with the help of a friend and didn't have to pay anything.

Owner's response

We are sorry that you disagreed with our recommendation.

As a professional repair shop, we are obligated to guarantee not only full functionality but also safety after every repair – and we bear the responsibility for this. Therefore, in certain cases, we must recommend replacing parts, even if an adjustment might initially suffice.

This is not comparable to a private or self-performed repair, as neither the same warranty nor liability applies. We must perform our work in such a way that we can return it to our customers with a clear conscience and legal certainty.

We are pleased that your bicycle is now working again and wish you continued safe and enjoyable riding.

We are glad that your bicycle is now working again and wish you continued safe and enjoyable riding.

I'd been having discomfort on my road bike for some time. Based on a recommendation, I decided to have a bike fitting at Fahrrad Müller. Alex took a close look at my body measurements, bike dimensions, etc. I felt very comfortable and well-advised. A camera scan analyzed the precise data and transferred it to the bike. It turned out that my handlebars were incorrectly adjusted, and I was sitting too far back/too high. Because of my discomfort, we decided to get a new saddle. Feedback: The result is incredible! The bike feels like new. I sit much more comfortably on it, and thanks to the adjustment, I can even put more power into the pedals. Thank you so much for this great service; I wish I'd contacted you much sooner.

Owner's response

Hi Felix,

Thank you so much for your positive review. I'm so glad I was able to help you so much with our 360° body scanning. The result speaks for itself =)

My team and I are happy to continue supporting you.

Best regards,
Alexander Müller

I've tried booking an appointment with this bike shop twice, but both attempts were unsuccessful. The first time, I attempted to book through their website, but I received no response or feedback. The second time, I visited the shop in person and provided my contact information to the receptionist. She assured me that I would be given an appointment, but again, I received no feedback or confirmation. I feel the need to share my opinion that the shop owner seems to prioritize service for German customers over foreigners. Based on my experience, I would recommend Denfeld as an alternative, where I received excellent service. In the interest of fairness, I want to mention that the technicians at this bike shop were welcoming and informative. However, I have concerns about the owner's behavior and treatment of customers.

Owner's response

Dear Mr. Ramin Sedighi,
Thank you for your detailed review.
During the control, I noticed that you had a fixed appointment on March 22, 2023 at 5 p.m. You identified and confirmed this here in the shop. In addition, a confirmation of the appointment has been sent to the specified e-mail.
On site on March 21, 2023, i have already shown you a suitable e-bike for the appointment.
Unfortunately, you did not show up for the agreed appointment. I'm assuming there was a misunderstanding when the appointment was made. We would be very happy to advise you.
Your first email request on March 21, 2023 at 2:10 p.m. was actually not answered because it was only processed in the evening. At 5:56 p.m. the appointment was booked here in the shop.
I would appreciate if you would contact me again to talk about the case.
Gladly by email at axm@fahrrad-mueller.net
Brought my ebike in for winter service last year. Unfortunately, I let myself be persuaded to also take the "oil bath" service of the hub gears in the rear wheel, which ,as I later found out, was absolutely unnecessary. After I brought the bike home, I noticed a small oil leak on the floor, but thought it was normal after the gears were "bathed" in oil during the service. Fast forward two months later - my wife rode the bike, and the gears worked increasingly worse, until finally a gear tooth broke a hole through the hub. To make matters worse, this was one day before my wife and I were to leave Frankfurt for 7 months - it was a Saturday. Thankfully, folks at B.O.C. happened to have a rear wheel to replace it and they did it on short notice. So, the winter service at Fahrrad Mueller cost us a lot of frustration and some 120 EUR. When I contacted the store after we came back to the country, 7 months later, they said they were sorry, but they were not willing to do anything since too much time had elapsed. Either way, they lost my business forever.

I have to agree with the evaluation by ripjaw: For about a year or so while I visited the store after I had come to Oberursel, I had good experience with the friendly sales woman in the showroom, but just the opposite experience with the workshop. Its young supervisor (apparently the son of the store owner) sets a negative tone. He was not only very sparse with giving factual information. He also gave me the feeling to be a dummy when I asked questions, and had a tendency to quickly become competitive when I dared to have an opinion about a technical matter, as if I had put his competence in doubt or challenged his authority. I didn't feel welcome as a customer at all, but even felt compelled to prepare myself mentially for the encounters with him. I am not going there anymore, there are enough good bike shops around with a nicer and much more helpful staff. I still want to make a remark about the reply which the store owner gave to ripjaw's comments. This reply is off the point: The store owner argues about his emphasis on customer value and on finding the best technical solutions to problems. But this is not drawn in doubt: Their technical work is up to standards, ripjaw and myself do not want to cast any doubt on their high technical competence. It is all about the way HOW the customer is served. Why is it so difficult to be friendly?
