I am extremely frustrated with their procedures and work methods! I bought my bicycle from a large bike shop in Bonn about 1.5 years ago. Strack Bikes is their service partner. The first service at Strack after a few months went perfectly. Unfortunately, the second service, including repairs, at Strack was a very poor experience. I took the bike to Strack for its scheduled second service and repair. The screw on the left pedal arm was loose and kept working its way out until the pedal arm fell off while I was riding. After dropping the bike off at Strack, time seemed to stand still, and even after several weeks, I received no email informing me that the bike was ready for pickup or that the repair was delayed for any reason. No information, nothing happened. I deliberately refrained from calling Strack during this time, as Strack explicitly encourages this practice. It's even stated on their website. I can understand that, to avoid constantly interrupting their workflow with phone calls. After five weeks, I emailed Fahrrad Strack to inquire about the status of my bike, but unfortunately received no reply. After six weeks, I visited the shop in person and was assured the bike would be ready the following week. The long-awaited pickup date finally arrived in the seventh week. The brake discs were replaced as part of the service (Strack billed the bike insurance directly for the parts). A screw on the pedal was replaced and secured with Loctite. My remaining cost was €95. At home, I noticed that the screw replaced by Fahrrad Strack looked completely different from the original screw on the right pedal arm! I then took my first bike ride two days after the service, and after about 15 km, the replaced screw came loose, and the pedal arm and pedal were loose again, almost falling off! Luckily, I had the right wrench with me and was able to tighten the screw and continue riding. On the return trip, the screw loosened itself every 15 km, and I had to retighten it regularly to get home (50 km). I sent an email to Fahrrad Strack that same day and, unfortunately, haven't received a reply to this day. One day after the mishap, I went to my local bike shop (where I originally bought the bike 1.5 years ago). The shop manager immediately saw that Fahrrad Strack had used the wrong screw and just shook his head! After a 15-minute check at the Bike-Discount Megastore, the entire pedal arm, including the screw, was replaced under warranty, and the problem is now fixed! Of course, mistakes can happen. But given this whole experience (extremely long processing time, lack of communication, and technical errors), I've completely lost patience.

Top team! I don't understand the negative reviews about long waiting times, etc. My daughter's bike has a problem almost every month; she even rides to the shop by herself, and no matter what the issue has been, it's always been repaired on-site immediately, or we've had to pick it up, and that never takes longer than two days. I can only recommend them. Top, top, top!

One star only because zero isn't an option. At the beginning of March, I was lucky enough to get through on the phone and received an email on March 7th informing me that I could drop off my bike on March 19th. I did so. When nothing happened by April 8th, I tried several times unsuccessfully to contact them by phone. So I emailed them to inquire about the status... but received no response. On April 11th, I tried again several times unsuccessfully to contact them by phone. Then, on April 12th, I went to the shop and was simply told that my bike wasn't ready yet. Therefore, I demanded that they release my bike, which they did without any further explanation or apology. The shop is full of bikes that have been dropped off for repair/inspection. This is obviously a convenient situation for Strack, but unacceptable for customers. If they don't have the time but are still accepting bikes, then in my opinion, that's simply a rip-off. The shop is full of bikes that have been dropped off for repair/inspection. Sorry for that word, but I can't think of anything else to say.

I went there on Saturday around closing time, or rather shortly after, for a minor repair to my rear wheel. My compliments: the correct replacement part was in stock and was even installed right away! I don't know of any other shop that accepts and completes repairs so close to the weekend. Since I'm going on a longer bike tour in a few days, this was very helpful and kind. Thank you so much, I'll gladly come again! Update: We're now back from our bike tour: in three weeks we cycled 1,000 km and climbed 11,000 meters in elevation in Switzerland and Northern Italy (by the way, without an e-bike). There were no breakdowns, no repairs, not a single flat tire. This is also thanks to your friendly assistance! Thanks again!

Thank you so much for the kind words!

Unfortunately, my repair wasn't completed until three weeks later, due to a replacement part that took longer. I had an appointment for that, too. Then I was doing some adjustment work, and the derailleur fell onto the crank and scratched it. It wasn't otherwise friendly beforehand...

Owner's response

Hello Karl,

Thank you for taking the time to write a review; we're sorry you weren't completely satisfied with our work. Of course, that can always happen; after all, we're only human and make mistakes.

How about contacting us directly in such a case? We could have investigated the problem and, if necessary, resolved it immediately. Perhaps you'll stop by again by bike...
Sincerely,
Martina Kratzsch
Fahrrad Strack

I got an appointment for the repair very quickly, and everything was done perfectly. She also adjusted my handlebars quickly and free of charge. I highly recommend Fahrrad Strack to everyone!

I'm always very satisfied with the repairs and service. The shop/workshop is always busy, and inspections/repairs take a while, but small issues are often resolved immediately. I'll be happy to come back in the future.

Absolutely outrageous! Our two Cube e-bikes were supposed to go in for servicing. They said it would take a maximum of two weeks since we rely on the bikes. It ended up taking five weeks. They didn't even replace the sprockets ⚙️ Nothing again. Apart from replacing the chain and a gear cable, they didn't notice anything wrong. When I got home, two things immediately struck me as a layperson. The price was reasonable, but the service was practically nonexistent. Very disappointing.

Owner's response

Good day, Mr. Leyendecker,

Thank you for taking the time to write a review.

I'm afraid I have to agree with you regarding the long processing time.

Regarding the chain/sprockets, I already told you when you picked up the bike that the wear was so minimal that we decided against replacing them and instead only carried out the work you mentioned (shortening the chain and installing a new shift cable) to improve the shifting. We were also satisfied with the result during our test ride. Otherwise, we wouldn't have released the bike in that condition.

As for the other two points of criticism, I'd be interested to know what you, as a layperson, noticed immediately? We can work with constructive criticism. Please send us another email so we can review them.

Sincerely,
Martina Kratzsch

I've been waiting for my bike for six months. It only needs four small repairs. When I call, no one answers the phone. When I finally get through to someone, they say it's not finished yet. The spare parts aren't available. At the beginning of the year, they said everything was available except for one part. I asked them to please install the parts that weren't available and simply leave out the unavailable one. To this day, I haven't received a reply.

Owner's response

Hello,

Indeed, getting through to the phone is purely a matter of luck due to our workload. Unfortunately, we can't manage it any better with our current staffing levels.

I can't comment on the content of your request without knowing which order it relates to. Please send us an email with your full name and the name of the bike you're referring to. Then I'll gladly look into what the problem is.

Sincerely,
Martina Kratzsch
for Fahrrad Strack in Alfter-Witterschlick
