Fantastic service! I highly recommend it to every student :) I received excellent help and everything was explained patiently and in detail, showing me how to get my bike roadworthy again. I got the spare parts at a very reasonable price and learned something new in the process. I will definitely be back at the AStA bike workshop for my next repair. Thanks again!

I've been there several times and they've always helped me quickly. The people there were super friendly and always willing to help. I would come back anytime. Thank you very much.

We were just there and gave Kilian a lot of work to do with our bikes. But he was super nice and patiently explained everything to us. All the problems were fixed, and for very little money, too. Thanks! :D

Kilian gave us really friendly advice, and he helped us with everything (and repaired a few life-saving things) – which was absolutely necessary given our lack of knowledge! You can get all the spare parts there very cheaply, and you even learn something along the way.

I received excellent and thorough advice here and was even referred to a fantastic repair shop when the necessary repair exceeded my capabilities and I needed a quick and easy solution. Thank you so much – a wonderful resource! 🙏😊

Fantastic! The help and guidance during the repair process is excellent, and the staff are friendly and very patient. Even without any prior cycling knowledge and with a badly damaged bike, I was able to leave the bike shop with my own repaired bicycle. The help and advice are completely free; you only pay for the replacement parts (which are incredibly affordable).

I'm extremely happy with my visit to the workshop! The team was incredibly kind, patient, and helpful. They took plenty of time to explain everything clearly and answered all my questions openly. I immediately felt comfortable, and my bike problem was resolved quickly and professionally. One small suggestion: It would be helpful if the opening hours on the website were up-to-date and accurate – that would make planning visits even easier. Thank you so much for the fantastic service! I'll definitely be back! :)

Top-notch equipment and competent even for complicated repairs. If you already have a bit of prior experience, it goes very quickly. But even people who've never done anything on their bikes themselves seemed to receive friendly support :)

When someone's actually there, they're incredibly helpful, and the prices for individual parts are great. The big problem, though, is the "when," because it's incredibly often just no one there, even though the bike repair shop is supposed to be open. I've been there a total of seven times now during the stated opening hours, and the shop was only open twice. That can't be right, can it?
Owner's response
Hey, I'm so sorry you had such a hard time getting help. We're a self-help workshop run by the AStA (General Student Committee) of the University of Cologne, by students for students of the University of Cologne. Unfortunately, sometimes someone gets sick, has exams, or is on vacation, and we simply don't have enough people to cover it all the time. That's why our help is free for students.

I was able to buy a complete new derailleur for a good price (€28). However, you have to repair your own bike yourself, but you can get help. You have to actively ask for help and wait 5-15 minutes between steps (depending on how many others need it). In conclusion: If you have some time and don't have the money for a bike shop, then this place is highly recommended!
