A bike shop for autistic people on a tight budget. Anyone hoping for a spark of passion and friendliness from the staff when buying a bike is better off buying elsewhere. Cologne is a big city, after all.

I'd previously taken my Cube bike to another bike repair shop near where I live twice to find the cause of a creaking noise coming from the bottom bracket. Unfortunately, it was unsuccessful. Since I also bought my bike from Radhaus k, I took it to their workshop. I dropped it off on Tuesday, and the problem was identified and repaired the next day, all at a very fair price. They even explained to me what had been done and what was defective—everything was very transparent and understandable. Bottom line: fast, competent, and the price-performance ratio was right!

While searching for a touring bike for my partner, we came across Radhaus K. After a short but very informative and friendly phone call, we drove to Cologne on Saturday to see the bike in person. This was completely straightforward and didn't require an appointment. We received very competent and, above all, honest advice. Test rides with two different bikes were offered by the salesperson as a matter of course, and my partner took advantage of them. In the end, we drove back to the Sauerland region with a new touring bike in tow 😊

My son is very happy with the bicycle that we purchased so far. The service was excellent. We recieved a lot of good advise and the additional accessories we purchased for the bike were installed well and quickly while we waited.

I consulted Tim @ RadhausK about an e-MTB and was extremely satisfied with everything. His expertise, personal experience, recommendations on equipment, etc., delivery, assembly/adjustment, everything was top-notch. I was particularly impressed by how much he took his time. Not a given these days, when bikes are in high demand. We'll see how the first service interval goes in a few weeks. I'll report back then. Addendum 3 years after purchase: The bike still runs great, but there are regular maintenance issues. The workshop is very efficient. However, as soon as I mention that I have ZEG-Plus insurance (covers all wear and tear), parts are replaced without further notice. This gives the insurance company the right to terminate the contract. I don't think this is right, and Mr. Köchert has also taken note of this. He said that, in his experience, the insurance company would only terminate the contract if the claim amounted to about twice the purchase price. Further addendum: the insurance company has terminated my contract. That deducts another point from my rating. I think I'll buy my next bike elsewhere.

Thank you so much for the kind words and the lovely pictures. For the 800 km service, please schedule an appointment in advance. The current lead time is approximately 10 days.

Regarding your additional information, we would like to reiterate that the insurance coverage remains fully valid until the contractually agreed date. We also request that you inform us during future inspections that, in this situation, any repairs should only be carried out after prior consultation.

I bought my Cube Kathmandu Pro bike here and I'm very happy with it. Unlike those huge bike shops, here you can test ride the bike in real-world conditions right outside the door instead of having to balance between shelves and other customers. The advice I received was also excellent, and I didn't feel pressured in any way to make a quick sale. A few days later, I added some accessories to my order, which was also quick and easy. Completely satisfied with the shop. #buylocal

Werkstatt tattooed man was quite unfriendly to me today - "sehr unhöflich." I spoke to him in my best german and although he took my bike to fix in a moment which I appreciate he was generally cold, rude, impatient and grumbling the whole time. Upon finishing I stepped out into the street with my bike but I saw there was something not quite right with the bike so went back inside to ask him for further help. He told me to stay outside and wait there. Inside however there was a lot of space and there was no one but him so I was not disturbing anyone at all. He insisted I step out into the street and wait there which I found soooo rude and disrespectful. I even asked him " Was ist der Unterschied?" I decided to leave and to go to another Werkstatt at Maybachstrasse where at least I was treated with respect and the people were friendly. One star for rude guy at Werkstatt. Not coming back here ever! P. S.: The young man at the Radhaus K shop in Hansaring was friendly and helpful, the complete opposite of Werkstatt man.
Owner's response
Dear Mr. Fernandez, thank you for taking the time to review our store. After speaking with the relevant staff, I now understand the reason for your dissatisfaction. You purchased an inner tube from our store and intended to install it yourself. When you were unable to do so, you returned and asked for assistance. Since the store was already serving many customers at that time, our employee asked you to go directly to our workshop so that the installation could be explained to you there. To simplify matters, our mechanic installed the inner tube immediately and free of charge. The fact that our mechanic then asked you to wait outside the workshop was simply due to the need to bring in a sold bicycle and not being able to leave you alone inside. It's a shame that our workshop employee received such a poor rating for providing such prompt assistance. It's understandable that communication in different languages can sometimes lead to misunderstandings, but this should be solvable with a little tolerance. Sincerely, Heiko Köchert, Owner, Radhaus K

If you're looking to buy a bicycle in Köln, this is the place. Nicely located next to the Mediapark, with lots of parking spaces. We were looking for a nice Cube mountainbike and thanks to the endless patience of the shop owner we've found the right fit. The staff was very helpful, took their time, did not try to oversell or try to push for more sales. We returned home with a very good feeling. Afterwards it seemed we forgot some accessories: the shop owner was kind enough to send them to us! A man of his word!
