Inadequate fault diagnosis and disappointing service experience But let's start from the beginning: I had a loud creaking noise coming from the small chainring (SRAM AXS Red eTab) on my road bike (Canyon Endurace CFR) after replacing the chain (original part). Since the noise disappeared with the old chain, it seemed logical to me that the small chainring was worn out – and this on a bike worth €9,000 after only about 2,000 km of use, weekly cleaning, and oiling. Canyon asked me to have the issue checked by a certified service partner, hence my trip to Radsport Schneider on Stephanstrasse. Since creaking noises on a bike can have many causes, and I had already ruled out other possible causes myself, I described the problem in detail when I dropped it off and also sent a detailed description of the problem and the invoice with the bike's specifications via email. The workshop manager told me they would examine the issue and that I would need to leave the bike with them. ``` At home, I noticed that the collection slip said "adjust gears." When I inquired, the workshop employee explained that everything was supposedly being checked and I shouldn't worry. Two days later, I received a call: the bike was ready for collection, and the gears had been adjusted. When I asked, puzzled, "Why the gears?" I received a brief reply that the mechanic had "checked everything; the gears just needed readjusting." Since the gears had worked perfectly before, I became suspicious. Upon collection, it turned out that the problem hadn't been fixed. What was even more annoying was that the gears were so misaligned after the workshop's treatment that the chain rubbed against the front derailleur and jumped off the chainring when shifting. I was offered the option of the workshop handling the warranty claim directly with Canyon and requesting a replacement of the chainring assembly—a step in the right direction, I thought. I was assured that they would get back to me soon. Since I still hadn't received a response after three days, I called again. I was told that they wanted to send the cassette to SRAM and that I should bring the bike back again – which confused me again, since the original problem concerned the small chainring. After I explained the entire situation again, they offered to replace the small chainring. This again demonstrated their complete lack of expertise with SRAM components, as SRAM RED cranks with power meters are only available as complete units. They then suggested I bring the bike in yet again for them to check something else. I politely declined.

I went there to have the gears on my Canyon gravel bike adjusted. The staff were incredibly friendly and the service was excellent (and very fast)! I'll definitely be back!

Excellent service, dropped what he was doing to oil our chains and check tyre pressures on our touring bikes and advising on future care, in great English.

Competent work & nice service! The staff was very forthcoming and it took them only seconds to identify the damage of my online ordered Canyon Bike. They did additional checks other stressed parts and called me if I wanted them to be replaced. Work was done within a day. Highly recommended!!

I was passing through Cologne on a Rhine tour from Andermatt to Rotterdam, and my front wheel bearing was in a very bad state. Herr Schneider took it apart and repacked it, and it ran smoothly for the rest of the tour. Actually he warned me that (because of the pitting), he could make the bearing good enough to get me home but I should then replace it immediately - but it kept on running fine, and I only replaced the wheel finally because I was about to go on another long tour. Excellent service at a fair price.
