I was there today and unfortunately received very unfriendly treatment. Upon entering the store, I politely said "Good morning," but the employee didn't respond. I understand that everyone has a bad day, but his overall demeanor was very dismissive. I had a question about a product, but instead of helping me, he reacted with annoyance and was uncooperative. His attitude came across as arrogant and condescending. I will never go there again.

Anyone who knows me knows that I've been a strong advocate for brick-and-mortar retail for years. That was also the case when my 11-year-old grandson wanted a new fishing rod. Instead of ordering it online, I insisted we buy it from a fishing tackle shop. Since our local shop closed last year, we drove to Martin's fishing tackle shop in Duisburg. Mr. Martin went to great lengths to find the right rod for the young angler, and we bought it. We were disappointed on our first fishing trip on Sunday. The tip of the new rod broke. I comforted my grandson by saying that luckily we had bought it from a specialist shop and that I was sure I could get a replacement tip there. So today I made the 23 km trip to Duisburg and told Mr. Martin that we had a problem with the new rod. His response was that there was nothing he could do. At best, he could attach a new tip ring so that the rod could still be used. With some reluctance, I initially agreed, but insisted on testing whether it was even worthwhile. It then turned out that the entire rod was brittle and broke at the slightest resistance. Instead of offering me a new tip or rod, Mr. Martin suggested I report him. I replied that we were still under warranty and that I was entitled to a replacement. He responded that I could say what I wanted, but since he wasn't wearing his hearing aid, he couldn't understand me anyway. I left the store, remarking that he was about to get to know me, at which point he asked if I was threatening him. This afternoon, I called the manufacturer, Q TAC, in Bavaria and learned that Mr. Martin had ordered and received the rod from them in 2016. They confirmed that if a rod sits in a box for that long, it's possible for it to become brittle. Although the manufacturer's warranty is now void, they immediately offered to send me a replacement rod, which I hadn't expected at all. That should have been the end of it for me. But it isn't. I'll therefore share this post in the fishing groups so everyone knows where to buy their fishing gear.

Still one of the best stores for accessories, and has been for 41 years. The selection is still great. One of the last stores left standing. Respect, they did everything right. My childhood memories came flooding back. Thank you.

This shop is a must-see! Four rooms in a row. At the front, a woman sells magazines. Then comes a room with... well, what? All sorts of things, kitchenware, hardware, just like in the 70s. A photocopier is sitting in the corner, smelling musty. And way in the back, the boss sits in his fishing paradise. 🎣 He gets a lot of visitors, so there are already a few small bottles of sparkling wine in the morning. Good selection of fishing gear, including live bait. There are darts somewhere too. 🎯 For nostalgia fans, just pop in! 😉

Completely unfriendly and hardly any darts equipment. No common items like Evolution tips or Pentathlon flights. When I politely asked if they had anything else in stock, I was rudely told that if that wasn't enough, I'd have to go somewhere else. I've never experienced anything like it. But aside from the rudeness, the shop is completely useless for darts equipment.

Unfortunately, the man at the checkout, who would rather watch Kabel 1 for a moment longer than serve me, was frankly unbearable and unfriendly. The reviews from other customers seem to mostly come from regular customers, whom he obviously appreciates. Absolutely not a recommendation.

Ulli and Elisabeth are friendly contacts when it comes to fishing. Large selection of sport fishing equipment.
