Decathlon in Duisburg is really great. There's something for everyone and the price-performance ratio is quite good.

Great products, some very good staff (for advice), and then there are those who get annoyed at the simplest question or return. 5 stars for good advice - 3 stars for the employee who apparently doesn't enjoy their job :)

We would especially like to thank George, one of the helpful staff members. He answered all of our questions about electric bicycles in great detail and supported us with great knowledge and a friendly attitude. We would like to thank him once again.

For me, Decathlon is a great addition to the store, especially in the outdoor and sports sector.

A pretty brilliant sports store in downtown Duisburg! The location is fantastic. I feel like I can park my car practically right in the store. The fact that Decathlon is now located in the Galeria shopping center certainly has its advantages, though I can't quite put my finger on them. The shopping experience is pleasant. Everything is well-lit and bright. Products are divided into their respective categories and arranged logically on the shelves. You regularly come across something you can try out, whether it's new flip-flops, dumbbells, or resistance bands. The prices seem quite fair to me. There appears to be a good mix of store brands and other brands. Otherwise, an employee occasionally scurries around the store. Always patient and ready to help. Checkouts, apparently a special feature at Decathlon, seem to be self-checkout only?! - But it's convenient. The checkout system seems to be designed so that even the most tech-averse person can manage it. P.S.: Receipt by email, that's pretty clever. Thanks, I'll gladly come again.

After 4 1/2 weeks (shortly after the store opened), we wanted to exchange a jacket today because of a ripped seam on the sleeve. Unfortunately, we couldn't find the receipt. Aside from the fact that they already tried to weasel out of it without even knowing this, claiming the jacket had been worn and washed, they then told us it could have been stolen. Outrageous!!!! Here's an excerpt for the unfriendly employees in Duisburg: "A jacket return after four weeks is possible even without a receipt, as the statutory warranty is valid for two years; you only need to prove the purchase in the store, e.g., with a bank statement, credit card receipt, or witnesses, because the receipt is only evidence, not mandatory for a claim due to a defect." We're turning everything upside down again, but no matter what, I won't be supporting this branch with any further purchases. I'd rather go to Oberhausen.

NO Ski Service (January 2, 2026) The Decathlon Duisburg website states, "Ski and Snowboard Service We perform minor and major servicing for your skis or snowboard using high-quality MONTANA machines. Come by from October 15, 2025, or call us at the store to schedule an appointment." However, this is NOT the case!! Decathlon simply accepts skis and snowboards and forwards them. Providing expert advice and recording the personal data necessary for ski adjustments was also not possible. A very friendly employee explained the situation to us and apologized several times for the misunderstanding on the website and the lack of service. Unfortunately, the store is extremely poorly signposted and very difficult to find.

Great, finally in Duisburg! There are obviously larger branches, but basically everything is available for various sports. The city definitely needed this, thank you!

That's okay, they have a small selection, but no sports equipment.
