I went to the shop today after my rear derailleur broke last night and asked if they could help me with the repair. I was welcomed very warmly and received excellent support in getting my bike running again. While we were at it, we also adjusted the front derailleur, adjusted both brakes (front and rear), replaced a missing screw on the luggage rack, and straightened out a slight wobble in the rear wheel as best we could. The atmosphere in the workshop is great; all the staff are very friendly and polite. The workshop is also well-equipped with tools and spare parts. What I really appreciated was that my bike wasn't just repaired for me, but that I was able to do a lot of the work myself and received excellent support. I learned quite a bit in the process. I would definitely recommend this shop if you're interested in repairing your bike and need a little help or don't have the right tools. Many thanks again to the workshop staff! :-)

Help in times of need! This phrase is truly embodied at the German Red Cross bicycle repair shop in Düsseldorf-Wersten. I was there for the first time yesterday. Wow, a team of five men is there from 10 a.m. onwards, offering repairs and advice just like a professional bicycle repair shop. It wasn't just their friendly manner that impressed me. No, the men "examined" my entire bike like detectives and discovered quite a few other problems. I am so grateful for this, as I don't have much money. Their warmth was palpable, and I can only express my gratitude. A fantastic team with so much enthusiasm, intelligence, heart, and expertise.

Yesterday was my first time at the bike repair shop, and I'm extremely satisfied. My problem was that the brakes weren't working. My layman's guess was that they needed new pads. An employee approached me immediately; I was still outside (that's how things should be in the private sector...). He very kindly offered his help right away. The brakes just needed adjusting. The bike was oiled, the front light got new batteries, the luggage rack was tightened, the gears were checked, the kickstand was extended, and I'm sure I forgot to mention one or two other things. And all of this was done quickly and for a voluntary tip. Incredible. A private garage would have easily charged me €80, plus I would have had to leave the bike there. I would find it extremely sad if such a facility were to be cut back. Many schoolchildren depend on their help. And without the bike repair shop, I myself would have had to ride without brakes for even longer because I couldn't have afforded the €80.

They are true wizards! In just 5–7 minutes they found and fixed the problem on my bike that had been troubling me for weeks. Friendly volunteers that (try to) help. When it comes to difficult problems then you are better off with a professional bicycle shop. But great voluntary service for the neighbourhood! Don't forget to bring some Cookies/cake for the guys and/or put a few cents in the coffee/tip jar🤗
