The Most unfriendly shop I have ever been to. You walk in and the staff looks at you like you stole something you ask for help and they rude as hell. Rather wait 1week for my online order than going there.
Owner's response
Hi David,

we are sorry if you have gained such a negative impression; I believe that we are actually quite friendly. At least, that is what we often hear. We are certainly a little different from many other shops, but we usually ask our customers if we can help them when they enter the shop, and we mean it. We are delighted when we can win people over with our expertise, direct and clear communication, and enthusiasm.
Of course, we love the motto ‘Ride it like you stole it’, but we try not to let that show when you enter the shop. Anyone who asks for help usually gets a reasonable answer. It's a shame that wasn't the case for you.

Best regards,

Carsten
This place has rude service, in particular I’m talking about the pretentious owner. We came in looking to buy 2 gravel bikes with a low budget of 850 per bike, but instead of helping us he quickly began roasting us saying stuff like “you might shop second hand for clothes” while looking us up and down, and even saying he COULD order those kind of cheap bikes, but instead of helping us he was too busy being an douche bag, I don’t recommend this place.
Owner's response
Hi Ascon Covers,

I'm taking the liberty of replying in German, as it seems quite a bit got lost in translation during our conversation. I already responded to your email and tried to clarify my position and offered to talk to you, but that obviously didn't lead to any further understanding.

A little background: We don't offer new gravel bikes for €850 because we believe that such a bike neither meets the requirements of our customers nor can it be produced fairly in any way. Therefore, I suggested that with a limited budget, it might be better to buy a used bike. This wasn't meant to be offensive or disrespectful, but rather a sincere piece of advice, even if it wasn't necessarily in line with the thinking of a bike shop that doesn't sell used bikes. I know that bicycle prices are high, but I think that conscious consumption is better than constantly buying cheap things with short lifespans in a throwaway society.

We run our shop with passion and conviction, and I'm sorry that it seems to have come across completely differently to you, at least in my case.

Your email, like the criticism here, was offensive in some points, and I don't think that's good form. As an emotional person, I would appreciate it if you would consider whether your approach is correct.

Best regards,

Carsten Wien, one of the owners

Carsten Wien, one of the owners

This is the place to go if your bicycle has a mechanical problem in Düsseldorf. I’m on a bike tour and my rear wheel just packed in yesterday, it’s only been ridden 200miles but it span freely in both directions. I looked online to find a workshop and went to a couple of other places that call themselves workshops thinking this was a high end bike shop only. I thought I would go here just to buy a wheel. The mechanic took my wheel off and said he could spare half an hour to take a look. I was nervous it was a waste of time but he was confident it was worth checking as it was brand new. He took the rear hub apart (neither of the other two places I went to considered this and seemed to think I needed a new wheel or that they’d fixed it by tightening the axle?) He said it was over greased and probably with the wrong grease and this was causing the pawls to stick, part of the ratchet mechanism. He degreased and re greased with better stuff. He charged me reasonably for his time and expertise. Everyone there was very friendly and helpful, with a great philosophy for biking and their shop. Thank you Schicke Mütze for getting me back rolling!

A super place. I only went for a couple of casquettes yet had the best service. The cycle caps are high quality, especially for us blessed with over large heads. Infact, they do different size as they take this seriously. I even got a Kraftwerk hat. They were all very friendly and accommodated my lack of German with grace and humour.

I went here to search for a bike. I am not sure what kind of bike is suitable for me. The staffs were very helpful. The moment I came they were ready to help. They also speak english well so everything was clear, since I dont speak german.

I brought my MTB bike for a general inspection and I am very happy with the service. The staff are very friendly and I had the opportunity to clarify and discuss the issues of the bike. For the things that required to be changed (which implied extra expenses) I got a call to get informed and to approve the changes. The service was also very quick. I would recommend to make an appointment. Totally recommended!

What’s wrong about wanting a 15 euro bicycle lock, the guy even mocked me and here I quote” you only wanna pay 5 euro don’t u” Which is rude af. 1 Star.

This spot is awesome but tucked away. The only indication there is a shop here from walking down the street is a few arrows on columns. Shop has all caffeinated drinks, some bottled beers and wine, clothing, bottles, all sorts of retro cycling hats, parts you name it. Definitely a chill spot to poke around and hang out
