Since we switched from stand-up paddleboarding to kayaking, we still needed a good paddling jacket and paddling gloves or "paddle hands." Unfortunately, there aren't any such suppliers in our area that also sell high-quality products. We then came across Heinz Zölzer's shop online, and their products had impressed us. But you really have to try on equipment, feel it, and test it. So we drove the 170 km in our campervan; there was a large parking space available for our 7.50 m vehicle. We were greeted by a friendly and helpful employee, and we told him about our switch to kayaking. He then demonstrated various products for us and had an answer to all our questions. We weren't pressured into anything; he simply listened, and that's how we found the right products. The advice, the price, the performance—everything was perfect, practically unbeatable for the quality. We can highly recommend this shop. Unbeatably good! I got a 4m long and 2.3m wide roof rack for my Crafter/ManTGE right there in Essen, customized to my needs (roof tent, boats, etc.). An employee took the time to give me excellent advice and made spacers to fit my car on-site. Including screws, T-nuts, end caps, etc., I ended up paying €760. Yes, the Zölzer company seems a bit out of date, but the roof rack system is legendary, and the price/performance ratio is unbeatable.

Everything went perfectly from the start! I made an appointment, stopped by on my way back from vacation, had an employee measure the campervan roof, checked the plans, took all the components with me, and installed them at home. Tip: Cut the Sikaflex at the front; this makes the bead thicker and allows it to ooze out nicely later. Weighing it down is crucial. It doesn't matter what you use! The main thing is that the rails sit firmly on the roof. I've uploaded photos and a video to YouTube: "Custom roof rack solution, surfski on the campervan..." After we already bought our roof rack for the campervan here, I needed a paddle bag at short notice. I ordered the bag by phone on Wednesday afternoon (as a registered customer), and it arrived the following day. Thumbs up for this great customer service, thank you!

The best shop for canoes and accessories in the Ruhr area. Friendly and knowledgeable advice, as well as a accommodating approach to problems with purchased items, is the norm here. Even if the prices offered here aren't always as competitive as those of online retailers, the friendly service in the shop more than makes up for it. I always enjoy shopping here.

Friendly staff, good service, and good equipment. They offer something for every paddler. Plenty of choice to browse; just drop in and have a look. Easily accessible by bus, train, or car.
