My initial experience from September 22, 2025: Yesterday I went to "Zweiradtechnik Taschner" (Taschner Two-Wheel Technology). The reason was a defective rear wheel hub, specifically the bearing. Another shop in Witten wanted to sell me and install a completely new rear wheel for approximately €335 (!!!). A real joke! Mr. Taschner's approach was this: He listened, took the time to analyze the problem, and suggested first servicing the hub and then seeing if that resolved the issue or if a new rear wheel was truly necessary. For this, the rear wheel was removed, the hub was thoroughly and meticulously cleaned, the bearing races were polished, regreased (because after approximately 14,500 km, there was no grease left on either side of the bearings), and fitted with new balls. Mr. Taschner's solution was to listen, take the time to analyze the problem, and suggest first performing a hub service and then seeing if that solved the problem or if a new rear wheel was truly necessary. The result of this approximately 45-minute "operation" was that everything is working perfectly again! Finally, the gears were fine-tuned and the chain oiled (almost as an afterthought, without me even asking). At the beginning of the whole process, which I forgot to mention earlier, Mr. Taschner found a small shard of glass in the front tire, which could have potentially caused a flat at some point. All this for less than 10% of what the other shop quoted as the solution—a completely new rim with installation—simply unbelievable! Here, if it's worth it, they actually repair things! Mr. Taschner is exceptionally friendly, helpful, a good listener, and very experienced. I feel qualified to say this, as I've been repairing and maintaining my own bicycles for a good four decades. This positive impression is further enhanced by his wife, who, with her pleasant and easygoing manner, manages sales, handles repair orders, and coordinates appointments. CONCLUSION: They still exist, those service gems of the German (two-wheeler) trade that truly embody the word "service." I'm completely convinced and will become a loyal customer! My rating: 10 out of 5 stars!!! 😉 PS: Apparently, other customers have had similar experiences, as I couldn't get an appointment for a service until November 2026...

Zweiradtechnik Taschner, Called on recommendation, brought the bike, ordered parts (including the battery cover), repaired it, and picked it up 2 days later. Simply great!!! Ordered the battery cover from Meinhövel in February 2024. We're not waiting for it anymore ;) Keep it up, simply great

I had a problem with the sprocket. Despite several other customers, everything was handled well and the problem was resolved. Unfortunately, the service appointments are scheduled far in advance, which probably means that many people are very satisfied. A very nice couple.
