After a few years, I needed a new rear wheel with an internal gear hub for my brand-name e-bike. The spokes weren't in the best condition anymore, and the rear rim was also becoming brittle and had developed a slight wobble. This is best handled by a specialist bike shop, especially if you want to reuse, for example, the still perfectly functional 8-speed Nexus internal gear hub in its premium version. The workshop team gave me excellent advice. They suggested a new, sturdy, high-quality rim with reinforced spokes, as I'm not the lightest rider. A specialist mechanic hand-laced the reinforced spokes into the new rim and the reusable internal gear hub, carefully centered them, and tensioned them precisely so that the wheel had no radial runout (wobble). Then, the new rim tape, inner tube, and tire were installed. This kind of work can only be done in a specialist workshop with highly skilled technicians and sophisticated software for spoke calculation. The entire completed rear wheel was then installed in the bicycle frame and fully assembled, ready to ride. The rim brake was fitted with new brake pads, and the gears were perfectly adjusted; everything worked like clockwork. After several test rides, I can wholeheartedly recommend this professional workshop team with its excellent management and communication.

I leased a company bike for €4500. The salesperson was friendly and helpful. The bike needed an inspection, which I had to leave there for a week. My vacation made this possible. After several days, I noticed that my rear light was broken. When I called, they told me I'd have to leave it there for a few days. I asked if they could take a look at it. No, I was told to call back next week, as I need the bike every day for work. The workshop wasn't interested. I called other workshops that offered to check it, even though I didn't buy the bike there. Poor service at Mönninghoff. I'm done with them and won't be buying another bike. ...

I bought another mountain bike from Mönninghoff, and again without e-assist – I'm holding off on that one for a while. The advice was, as always, expert and professional, but this time it came from a very good friend. The friendly woman with short blonde hair (an active cyclist herself and a bike mechanic for decades) provided top-notch, professional advice. I test-rode two bikes and still gladly accepted her advice. In the end, I bought the bike (a Cube Reaction C 62 Pro Carbon) and loaded it onto the bike rack; new bikes never come with pedals. The following photos show that I've mounted my existing pedals (one side SPD clipless, the other flat) as well as other equipment (saddle bag under the seat, eTrex bike computer, Sigma wireless bike computer with cadence sensor, carbon fiber bottle cage, bell, and lights). I chose Mönninghoff again (I've bought 7-8 bikes there already) because they also have a good workshop and the advice has always been excellent. E-bikes are also available for those who want them; the selection is large and the quality is always very good. I can recommend them and would/will go there again for my next purchase.

Highly competent advice and friendly service! The sales assistant immediately identified the correct frame size and addressed my specific needs. Although my desired bike wasn't in stock, it was quickly obtained. I can highly recommend them!
