I took my bike to the workshop at the beginning of the week to replace or repair the front brake because a part broke off during a fall. I was told it should be ready by Thursday or Friday and they'd get back to me. I went there once on Thursday to ask how the bike was doing and was told he hadn't started yet, but would tackle it next and would call when it was ready. I didn't hear back on Thursday or Friday. On Saturday, I called on my own and was told he couldn't repair it, could install a different brake, or that I could order the brake I mentioned and drop it off there. Or he could order it, and as soon as the brake arrived, it would supposedly be ready the next day. It seems like they always give priority to others, not in the order they were supposed to! When I confronted him about the promised deadline, he said he didn't have time to discuss it and that if it didn't suit me, I could come and pick up the bike, which I did. I appreciate it as very friendly and decent. And the word "apology" apparently doesn't exist in the vocabulary. They certainly could have waited longer if it hadn't arrived by the specified time, but they're supposed to just keep communicating, which might not be everyone's cup of tea. So my mountain bike sat in the workshop for a week without anything being done. Highly recommended! I got an appointment at Arno's Bikestore that same day, and I'll get it back finished on the same day I'm supposed to drop it off. Now that's what I call service! And customer-friendly advice over the phone is very valuable.
