A truly wonderful place. There are plenty of play opportunities and animals to see and pet. The highlight for the kids is feeding the rabbits. There are many activities available, which you can find on the website. Highly recommended!

The Nickern Children's and Youth Farm is a wonderful place that I love to visit with my family. We enjoy coming during opening hours, using the lovely playground, watching the animals, and being outdoors. On family afternoons, we can participate in creative activities free of charge. We also love the wonderful festivals, such as Walpurgis Night and the Harvest Festival. New projects are constantly being launched to support families. For example, there's now an open parent-child group and a baby course. There are also workshops for children where they can make natural products, visit the animals, and plant in the garden. During the autumn holidays, there's a workshop for kids who enjoy music. They can create their own song and are supervised all day. The open children's and youth program is also fantastic. Kids can spend their afternoons there and are lovingly cared for by social workers. We also really enjoy the special events for families. We really enjoy visiting the puppet theater on the farm or the family Sundays, which included events like Mill Day. In September, there's a bike day with great activities, which we definitely won't miss. My family and I are completely satisfied and feel wonderfully at home on the farm!

A really cool place for small children. It's a bit chaotic, and unfortunately, we didn't find anywhere to get a snack. So, if you're well-stocked, you can spend a lot of time there and explore. The people there were all really nice, and the animals are well-cared for and looked after. Especially in summer, there are plenty of shady play areas. Make sure you park at the intersection below, as there are very few parking spaces directly at the top of the farm, which are reserved for the staff.

We were there for the first time today... small but perfectly formed! Simple, with great play areas (even a small water playground) for the children, some seating for adults, and small stables and enclosures, some of which you can enter (rabbits, for example). Unfortunately, there were no drinks or food available today (which seems to be intentional). The farm is easily accessible by car (there's also a bus). My son had a blast! A great little farm in the city that's free to visit – although donations are welcome. We'll definitely be back!

I visited the farm as part of a school trip with a second-grade class. I was very impressed with the farm itself and the animals, but the social skills of some of the staff left much to be desired. Despite their love for the animals, they didn't seem to have their voices under control when speaking to the children. I also don't understand at all why a playground is built right in the middle of the farm and then a bunch of second-graders are expected to be quiet (that can only work to a limited extent).

Our project days are based on the Saxon curriculum for grades 1 and 2, subject area 3. We see ourselves as an extracurricular learning environment where children can experience this curriculum topic with all their senses. Accordingly, this project day is based on a structured, well-thought-out concept that has been consistently rated very positively by educators.<br><br>Of course, there is also plenty of time for the children to ask questions! During your visit to our farm, the children were able to ask numerous questions. However, it's important to keep an eye on the time and the overall flow of the day to ensure it runs smoothly. Therefore, the children were asked to wait with their questions until after the discussion sessions with the respective animal species. After all, it's quite possible that the question will be answered during the discussion itself.<br><br><br><br><br><br><br><br><br><br><br><br><br><br><br><br><br><br><br><br><br><br><br><br><br><br><br><br><br><br><br><br><br><br><br><br><br><br><br>' ... Otherwise, we had a horse on the farm that day suffering from life-threatening colic (incidentally, the reason for the many "Do Not Feed" signs around the farm – because uncontrolled feeding by visitors and passersby can cause exactly these kinds of problems). And as you yourself observed, 27 children on a playground can certainly get quite boisterous. Since it's also important to us to teach the children who visit our farm that animals are sentient beings, we explained to the children that the horse was sick and therefore needed rest, along with a request to perhaps be a little quieter while playing. A request the children complied with wonderfully.<br><br>Perhaps you can now better understand the reasons behind one or two moments that may have bothered you as a mother that day, and remember the positive aspects of the day!

Only moderately busy in winter, but still very beautiful. Worth a trip with the kids in summer. There are also regular activities.
