We spontaneously decided to try scuba diving and received excellent advice here at the shop. We were able to schedule a date quickly, and the organization was completely straightforward and very customer-friendly. The introductory course took place on July 6th at the Leuben gravel pit. Our instructor, Sven, was simply fantastic! He took the necessary time for each of us, gave us lots of helpful tips, and his calm, professional demeanor put us at ease. We had a great time and were very satisfied! If we decide to take a scuba diving course, we'll definitely do it here! Thank you so much for the wonderful experience!!!

Initially, everything was fine. The masks and their prices are high-end, which is to be expected in a dive shop. (Starting at around €70, most models around €100) When we asked about cheaper options, the salesman said, "You can buy cheaper ones, but if you can't see the shark or the turtle because your mask fogs up and water gets in, you'll be incredibly annoyed." That was precisely why we were there in the first place, and we agreed. He then added, "First, we'll make sure the mask fits well, then I'll explain something to you, and THEN we'll talk about the price." (Please remember this statement for later.) He also stated that you buy a mask like this to last at least the next 10 years. He referred to my own snorkel (the clip on the mask broke after 13 years of use) as a cheap Aldi bargain. No wonder the mask is broken. (?! Except that I also bought this set in a dive shop and it served me perfectly for 13 years, which I even mentioned several times). When we then decided on a €110 model for my boyfriend and my €70 model, the explanation came: clean the lenses with Viss before vacation, then spit in them before every swim, wash your face beforehand, don't let any grease get on them...) and now we're going to the checkout together. NOW, according to what I'd been told, we should be discussing the price. When I asked what could be done about the price, the man became angry and aggressive, wouldn't let me finish speaking, ignored his previous statement, and told me how much he hated this kind of thing, since a small shop like this has to fight for survival – OH NO, that's not the reason we wanted to buy there and not at Globetrotter?! In any case, there was absolutely no compensation, and we left feeling quite dejected after the purchase, given the aggressive closing atmosphere. AND NOW THE BEST PART OF THE WHOLE THING: I followed all the instructions, bought Viss specifically for this purpose, and pre-treated both masks. (...and as I mentioned, I've been snorkeling for a while now.) And lo and behold! From the very first snorkeling session, the left lens either fogged up or water leaked into the mask from some unidentifiable spot on the left side. This resulted in water constantly pooling in my nostrils, or I couldn't see at all, and I had to empty the water or spit on the left lens after every other dive. I then actively used the mask for a total of four weeks, cleaned it several times, checked it, adjusted the straps, and tried practically everything I could – nothing changed. As I just explained: This only happens on the left side. So I doubt this could be due to anything I did – the right lens never fogged up even 1% of the time. Neither did my friend's glasses. I'd guess it's a classic manufacturing defect? And I can only sincerely thank the nice gentleman for this incredible €70 experience during my one-month vacation! Good thing I didn't buy glasses there, otherwise it would have been even better!

For the first time, I wanted to dive in a mine. My husband has completed a cave diving course, while I have a GUE Fundamentals certification. Therefore, only a guided dive was an option for me. We booked a dive with Peter Panitz at Tauchtreff Dresden for the old Miltitz limestone mine, which is only open ten weekends a year. Upon arrival at the mine, we first registered with our certifications. Then, wearing our helmets, we walked to the entry point, which was an impressive sight. Peter explained the dive to me, the depth we would be at, and what to expect. His open and professional manner immediately instilled confidence and security. After the briefing, I took my equipment to the entry point. All the necessary facilities were there, such as tables and a ramp into the water. Fully dressed, I stood at the edge of the crystal-clear water, while Peter was already waiting for me in the water, which, by the way, was a temperature of 8 degrees Celsius. After our equipment check, we submerged, and I was immediately overwhelmed by the beauty of the spot. We follow the cave guide at a leisurely pace. Peter is very attentive and frequently checks on my well-being. At one point, we switch off our lights and enjoy the breathtaking scenery, and I'm grateful when Peter briefly holds my hand. With our lights on, we make a detour into a passage, and here the GUE training becomes particularly evident. The forward and backward turns on the spot are essential in these narrow spaces. At another point, divers emerge from the lower levels, which is an awe-inspiring sight. I'm overjoyed. After 45 minutes, we reach the exit again, and I can barely contain my grin. I'd like to thank Peter once more for making this incredible experience possible.

In the aftermath, it was a complete disappointment. The standard expectations were unprofessional and completely overpriced. The training was truly beyond acceptable, and the dive computer service (just a battery replacement) was dismissed as a replacement for a third-party computer that only had 81% battery life. Please do your research and save yourself the disappointment and the loss. There are much better service providers out there.

Hello Mr. Effe,<br><br>unprofessional controller maintenance is certainly not an argument you should use against us.<br><br>If you have any criticism of our staff or our services, please contact us directly so we can do something for you. I (14 years old) took a taster course today as part of my youth initiation ceremony, and it was really cool. The diving instructors and guides were all super friendly, and I especially liked that everyone had their own guide. The impressions and experience I gained should motivate everyone else to give it a try. Most of the nervousness disappeared after the first few breaths underwater, and it was really fun. It was definitely worth it, and I can highly recommend it. Whether you like it or not, you'll get a great impression. Thanks :)

I have very fond memories of my visit with Peter. Finding a suitable snorkeling mask (suitable for prescription lenses for glasses wearers) and snorkel took only 5 minutes thanks to his expertise. He then treated me to tea for the rest of the hour :) I can tell he's a total pro and incredibly experienced when it comes to diving :) He even works as an instructor. It couldn't be better.

I dropped off a small batch of regulators with the request to have them overhauled as much as possible and assembled/assembled for use. Unfortunately, I let myself be talked into mentioning that I had bought them used, which, in my opinion, provoked an overreaction. When I picked up the regulators, I paid a hefty bill. While on vacation, it turned out that one of the first stages was defective and the regulators weren't even assembled for use (position of the connections). So, I paid a rental fee on the spot. Then, a third trip to Dresden to complain and a fourth to pick them up. A year later (without using them in the meantime), the first stage in question developed a different fault, and the octopus and fin filter were leaking. So, I paid for the rental again. I'm not exactly penny-pincher, but I have had good experiences buying used equipment in the past. I certainly would have understood if the expert had told me it wasn't worth repairing and offered me something new. But handing me two defective regulators is unacceptable. Aside from the fact that they weren't really usable in the way they were assembled. Addendum to the answer: Yes, the order was "make something out of it." But that went completely wrong. Twice! It's safe to assume that the regulators weren't even tested. And the order specifically stated that the various parts were assembled, which was done; there were even leftover parts. The assembly simply wasn't such that it made sense on a standard cylinder with a standard jacket. And to assume the customer is a penny-pincher just because they want to have used items refurbished only shows that you've been in the business far too long. Especially since I specifically pointed out that I trusted the expert's advice. Instead, I was really badly reprimanded. Your answer is dripping with flimsy excuses. The expert should have been able to see, at the latest after opening the cylinder, whether there were any "dubious" materials and whether the costs would be reasonable. That's precisely why customers consult a professional and don't try to do it themselves. Ultimately, it's also a question of SAFETY!
Owner's response
Dear Mr. Langer,<br><br>The regulators are reassembled exactly as they were handed over to us. The question "how did you come to have such regulators?" stems precisely from a configuration that seems confusing to us. The workshop is not permitted to reconfigure the regulators without instructions to see how they should be configured. Diving equipment is simply too diverse for that.<br><br>In principle, almost all customers bring in "used regulators" for servicing. Therefore, it's not particularly expensive. The instruction is usually: Make something of it! Divers who buy used regulators are thrifty. However, such regulators are in above-average condition. With a bit of bad luck, the servicing process can reveal a condition where a new purchase would be worthwhile with a manageable additional expense. It's too late to sue for expert advice afterward. The incurred expenses must still be reimbursed. Someone who has just bought used regulators isn't going to buy new ones in a store. I've never seen that happen.<br><br><br><br>``` So we are required to do everything possible to ensure this purchase decision is usable.<br><br>Finimeters (i.e., the pressure gauges) are not automatically serviced without instructions, but they are inspected. It's certainly understandable that aging continues with used equipment—even when not in use.<br><br>I'm pleased with this review because I've learned something important from it: Don't deal with such dubious materials anymore!

A fantastic place to find prescription diving masks! After two unsuccessful attempts at other shops, I finally received the advice I was looking for here. A truly worthwhile investment; our snorkeling holiday in Egypt was perfect thanks to them! Many thanks to the team for this excellent service – you really know your stuff!
