I've been a member of the FabLab team since February 2024. We're a small but cool group. Currently, we're working with Proxmox, Docker, Portainer, OPNsense... so basically, Linux nerds. But we also delve into hardware like Wi-Fi technology and machine access control down to the smallest detail. There are also people who work with Arduino and ESP32. So, if that sounds interesting to you, you should definitely drop by. I always enjoy going! 😀

Wood, metal, ceramics, bikes, textiles – make it yourself, make it here. I've been a member for two years now and always look forward to coming back and working on my various projects. The friendly people with their extensive expertise are really the best thing about the makerspace.

Owner's response

Thanks Christian! Together we can really rock! :)

A true creative island in the heart of Gohlis 🫶 We attended a pottery class and were able to experience the diversity for ourselves.

An inspiring place for all creative people who enjoy working and tinkering with their own hands. Besides well-equipped workshops, there is expert knowledge and friendly, open-minded people.

Now in Leipzig since 2014, the Makerspace boasts 18 (?) workshops or areas under one roof, spanning approximately 600 square meters. It's easily accessible – ground floor and almost barrier-free – located at Coppiplatz in the parking garage behind the gas station. It's good to know that everyone there works on a volunteer basis as members of the Makerspace. The Kunsttanker art center is right next door, and you can get a feel for the place at the monthly organizational meetings (currently held via Google Meetup). The entire project is a joint initiative of the Villa Leipzig socio-cultural center. Non-members are also welcome to offer courses and workshops there.

A cool place to tinker. Whether it's wood, concrete, or metal—no problem. Freelance work with professionals or guided workshops. A very friendly team! Highly recommended!

We spontaneously visited the Makerspace today to have a look around. We immediately found someone to give us a short tour. The Makerspace is very large, with many different areas (photography, sewing, concrete, FabLab, woodworking, blacksmithing, etc.), and the membership model sounded very reasonable.

Cool project, nice people. The Makerspace Leipzig is a place where makers, artists, creatives, tinkerers, and collectors can exchange ideas, support each other, learn from one another, and find inspiration. The Leipzig Makerspace serves as an open workshop where as many different working methods as possible can be taught, learned, and tried out. Through collaboration and the sharing of resources such as tools, space, knowledge, materials, and time, all members have the opportunity to realize their own (artistic) craft or technical ideas, from initial concept to series production, or even to take the plunge into self-employment. The following areas are currently available: FabLab, wood, ceramics, metal, paper, and textiles. In addition, workshops on the various areas are held regularly.
