Clear evaluation and description of what actually is required to fix my bike, done on the day with no issues to follow up on. Highly recommend, trustworthy and competent.

They were amazing! I suddenly had some issues with my brakes and had to find a shop nearby and luckily they were still open and they spoke English, which was a huge help for me. They immediately took my bike in and started working on it. I’ve heard that usually bike shops are pretty swamped so I was so thrilled that they could help me right then and there. They replaced all my brake pads, oiled my bike chain, fixed a light that fell off, and filled my tires for €56 and even gave me a glass of Sekt to enjoy while waiting as well as a mini-bottle to take with me. They were so friendly and I enjoying hanging out with them while they worked, and they even showed me how to oil my chain for the future. 10/10 service, may have to sabotage my bike so I can stop by more often ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I was interested in purchasing new bicycle, the door of the store was open and I walked in, like you do with open stores. Then one of the staff members came in from outside and told me that service is only done outside. OK, I apologized that I didn’t know the rules and waited patiently outside. In the meantime, more people came and the employee advised them and ignored me turn after turn, I obviously left. 1. If this made you so angry that you don’t want to give me service, that’s totally fine, but at least tell it to my face and don’t make me waste my time waiting in such a humiliated way. My time is just as precious as yours and I am not a mind reader. 2. If you are so strict about your rules, you can put a sign. 3. Being nice won’t destroy your business.

The guys that work there are super friendly, they will always give you an estimated price before doing the actual repair and they give you a call when your bike is ready for pickup! They have convinced me with their friendliness and amazing service, I am definitely a returning customer. Keep up the good work!

Without doubt the best bike shop in Berlin. How often do you see anything, let alone a bike shop, with 4.9 stars? There's a simple reason for this amazing score, and it's that Stefan and his colleague are not only unbelievably friendly, but also knowledgeable, helpful and honest. Of course, it's not easy being a bike mechanic, with customers coming in and wanting the cheapest price for complicated fixes based on their rudimentary knowhow. But still, it seems to be a bit of thing in Berlin that bike mechanic's try their hardest to make you feel small or like you are wasting their time. Not at Aalrad! For example, I wanted to build my first ever handbuilt set of wheels. Stefan not only talked me through the entire process and helped me select the right components, but also urged me to come back once I had finished the build to check the quality of my work, without charge. There are one or two other bike shops in Berlin which I trust, but this was by far the best service I ever received. I should mention that it was a nice touch when Stefan said he was "proud" of me for doing such a good job on the wheels :D I subsequently rode them down the Danube and sent the guys a postcard from Austria, as requested, to let them how they were riding...

I called in randomly to get a small screw for my bike that had fallen off. They were so unbelievably lovely and sorted me out so quickly! I'll 100% be going back next time I need my bike looked at ^_^

These guys are great. It feels like visiting two knowledgable friends (who you do have to pay). Super friendly service, good value, always willing to help. My bike is not the fanciest bike in Berlin (in fact it might be the least fancy bike in Berlin) but I love it and they always treat it as seriously as they would a bike that cost 10,000 euros not 100.

A gem of a place. Finding a trustworthy bike shop like this increased my quality of life in Berlin. They are down to earth, humble, treat foreigners with the same respect as locals, and extremely competent.

One of the best first impressions of a bike shop i’ve ever had. Super friendly vibe from all the guys working here, they are more than happy to help with all jobs big or small. English speaking is definitely a bonus too!
