Here's what happened: I walk into this repair shop, tell the repair person that my chain is skipping, and he tells me straight away, without even thinking about looking at my bicycle, that I need to replace my chain and the gears on the rear derailleur, and he tells me the price and that it will take a week. Wow. Just short of telling me I need a new bicycle.
