I booked a workshop appointment online because my bike had a flat tire in its rear wheel. There were plenty of appointments available within the next two weeks, and after dropping off the bike on-site and discussing what needed to be repaired (including an approximate cost estimate), the subsequent communication via Signal was straightforward. Removing the flat tire worked, new pedals were installed, and I got a bike back with a chain oiled and tensioned, tires inflated, and a bike that rode as smoothly as if it were new. This special service catapulted the Friedrichshain bicycle workshop into my heart.

The repair order for the bicycle was: fix the chain skipping issue (the problem occurred under full load). So, the chain was replaced, the rear cassette was replaced, and, if necessary and agreed upon, the front sprocket was replaced. The repair was completed quickly, but the problem persisted. According to the mechanic, a test ride was performed. However, this can't be true, because the problem immediately reappeared. Had he tried it, he would have noticed it painfully. The cause is most likely the worn (middle) chainring at the front. The mechanic's advice: ride on the large sprocket until that one is also worn out, and then it would be worth replacing everything. Unfortunately, my routine played a nasty trick on me, and I shifted into the middle sprocket and pedaled hard. The chain jumped off, and I hit the frame badly and fell. I had to write this review because I'm simply furious about this shoddy repair job, and it left me out of commission for three days (various bruises and abrasions). Therefore: not recommended.

I dropped my bike off for repairs. Everyone was friendly until I asked about warranty or guarantee on the repairs. That didn't seem to sit well with them. There's no warranty on the repairs. And they don't provide an estimate. So, when you drop off your bike, you have to wait in uncertainty for the final bill. I had my MTB inner tubes and tires replaced – my front wheel now has a slight bend since the repairs. Oh well. Luckily, the bike is already old, so it's not a big deal, but I still paid a lot of money. The price-performance ratio is a bit too high.

The service packages only seem to apply if you have repairs done at the same time, which increases the price accordingly. Furthermore, there's no room for discretion regarding what needs to be done. I thought the bicycle would be checked and adjusted as described in the package, and that if any serious defects or damage were found, it would be up to the customer to have them repaired afterward. That's not the case.

I'm absolutely thrilled! After waiting weeks for an appointment at several other repair shops, I was able to conveniently book a slot online and drop off my bike a few days later. The staff at the central location were all friendly, efficient, and incredibly easy to deal with. While I was worried my old Dutch bike was beyond repair because the gears had given out and there were a few other issues here and there, they told me straight out how they would address the problem and that I could pick up the bike the next day. I was almost speechless: the problem was identified immediately, no one tried to upsell me, and the price was unbeatable (I'd read online that it would cost four times as much or more). I dropped it off yesterday at 5:30 p.m., and the next morning I received a text message saying the bike was ready. I picked it up in the evening, and what can I say? All the problems were fixed, it rides perfectly again, and they even took care of small details without me asking, like properly fixing the slipping rubber grip on the handlebars and adjusting the saddle correctly. Now that's what I call customer service, especially considering I only paid a penny. As you can tell, I'm absolutely thrilled with the service, the team, and, last but not least, the price. Everything was just right, and I can wholeheartedly recommend the Berlin bike repair shop in Mitte to anyone. From now on, it's my first stop whenever my bike has problems. Thank you so much!
