My bike seat was pushed back and I asked if they could sell me the key to fix it or if they had the key, this operation would take 10 seconds and she said sorry I can’t give any tools from the workshop. Never seen anything like that. Bad vibes!

By far the best place in Berlin if you have any issues with your ebike. I'm taking my three bikes here and have no complaints.

Absolutely appalled by this bike shop! I stepped inside with the intention of purchasing bike repair items, but before I could even utter the words "do you have...," a female employee aggressively shouted at me, emphasizing "No English," while making hostile gestures to kick me out. It's 2023, and such narrow-minded behavior is truly shocking, especially in a cosmopolitan city like Berlin. If you don't speak English, that's of course fine and I'd be more than happy to use my hands and feet to explain what I need. But with this arrogant behavior I refuse to support this shop and will be taking my hard-earned money elsewhere, where I'll be treated with the respect and service I deserve.
Owner's response
What's shocking is what people like you think they can get away with and the lies and insinuations that run through some people's minds.

If you had actually been in our store, we would have spoken to you in English. Yes, it's 2023, and what you're alluding to is decades in the past, something no one here had or has anything to do with. Here, everyone is equal, whether rich, poor, thin, fat, intelligent, or disabled. Furthermore, we've been serving many multilingual customers for years.

A tip: if you have problems in any store, how about talking to the owner?

Thanks for a great job! Totally fair and worth every penny. Had them work on my Fischer E-Bike. The complaints about this place seem to be the kind of ppl that love the food in the restaurant but didn’t like the shape of the spoon.

I've gone to Bike Doctor approx 3-4 times with different road bikes in the last three years. I was always very pleased with their service and fair prices. But this week all changed. I called on Thursday morning and asked if they would be able to help me fix my rear shifting problems. They said they could do it within the day. I told them I have a race on Sunday and will be leaving Berlin already Saturday morning. No problem they said, I would be able to pick it up before closing on Thursday. I left my bike around lunch, but never got any call back before closing, so I assumed they needed it until Friday morning. No problem I thought, I just needed the bike ready by Friday evening, so I didn't stress. On Friday at 12:02 I received a call from Bike Doctor, saying that they won't be able to fix my bike. I asked if there was a bigger problem with it. No he said, they haven't had time to even look at it yet. They said they won't have time to look or work on it until next week. On the phone he asked "you said you have a race on the weekend...?" (We spoke in German). Yes, I said. That's why it's important that it's fixed today. I was trying to understand why they couldn't hold their promise. He said they have only one mechanic in the shop, and too much to do. Didn't you know that the day before, when you promised it would be done in a few hours? Long story short, I had to pick up my bike unfixed, and now find another bike shop that now would have less than 6 hours to fix it! But if Bike Doctor would have told me the day before that they would not make it, another bike shop would have had two full days to fix it! So it put me in a really unfair position to now try to see if any other shop could do an emergency priority. I explained to them how upset and disappointed I was because of this, but they just said they're sorry. I don't understand their reasoning. Don't take in jobs and make promises you can't hold. I told them that I'll never come back. They lost my trust and also made me lose over 10€ on transport when leaving the bike and picking it up non-fixed, and on top also all the stress and time wasted. My story has a happy ending though, I made a call to another bike shop, Zweirad Stadler, and they were able to fix my bike within a few hours. They changed the rear shifting cable and cleaned the cable housing. Luckily it wasn't any bigger problem than that. And now I'm on my way to Dresden and look forward to enjoying the bike race tomorrow with proper functioning gears. So mega thanks to Stadler for saving my weekend. And as I would say in German: Finger weg von Bike Doctor! PS: my boyfriend has also left his bike with Bike Doctor on a few occasions and is the one who recommended it to me a few years ago. When I told him the story, he said the same thing happened to him once, that he needed to pick it up again unfixed because they couldn't hold their time promise about fixing it before the weekend. So this is not the first time it has happened. It seems like they need to improve their logistics, capacity planning and customer relationship.
Owner's response
Dear Ms. Erica Ivarsson,

I am very sorry about what happened to you during your last visit, and I completely agree with your concerns.

I took your review very seriously and immediately spoke with the staff to emphasize that appointments and arrangements must not only be made but also kept!

Unfortunately, I cannot personally attend to each of our valued customers, let alone monitor 100% whether my quality standards are being met. Therefore, I ask all customers who experience problems to contact me directly and discuss them with me.

I take every concern seriously, and your review also shows me where I need to focus my efforts. Mistakes happen everywhere, unfortunately, but I want everyone in the store to own up to them, learn from them, and try to find a solution (even though it's impossible to please everyone) so that our customers leave happy and satisfied.

I would like to win you back as a customer and would ask you to contact me personally!

I can only promise that such an incident will not happen again in the future!

Sincerely,
Timo Henschke
Bike Doctor Berlin

I came to change the crank set. I paid 80€, the man saying me that I will not find better price. After talking to other bike shop, it figured out that the price for this type of reparation usually cost 20€. Moreover, I ask to put oil on the chain, that for 80€ has not been done. Finally, the initial crank set had 3 speeds, and I ended up with a 1 speed crank set.I should have never given them my bike to repair. A shame.
Owner's response
Are you sure you were here?

Firstly, we always oil every chain, and we never convert from a 3-speed to a 2-speed drivetrain without prior consultation.

Secondly, a crankset replacement including parts for €20 seems highly unrealistic.

If you were indeed here, which I find hard to believe since I can't find you in our customer database, let alone an order form with your name or the suspicious invoice, I would simply ask you to come back again, as this kind of thing definitely doesn't happen here.

By the way, a crankset replacement costs between €15 and €25, depending on the work involved, plus the crankset itself. Let's take a simple one as an example: a maximum of €40 for a single-speed (1st gear). More expensive single-speed cranksets are only available by special order, which I haven't had any of recently. Therefore, your review is completely wrong and unbelievable! And as I've already said, every customer has the right to speak with us, even in the event of problems, and will never be met with dismissal.

Outstanding experience with these guys. Very fair prices and went behind the call of duty in repairing other little things my bike had wrong for free. Very very happy :)

High quality service, great bike shop. These guys managed to do a repair job on my bike another bike shop refused to do, claiming I had to buy new parts. Not only did the Bike Doctor team repair my bike, they took the time to explain what was the problem patiently and in detail. I will happily entrust these guys with future jobs. Highly recommended.
Owner's response
Thank you for your review. We take the high quality standards for granted!
After all, bicycles are also vehicles that participate in road traffic, and if a customer pays money, they should get quality and 100% performance!

Best regards,
The Bike Doctor Team
