Very friendly staff. Although my bike turned out to be too old for a full repair to be worth it, I got really good advice and some minor care and repair for free. Definitely recommend

I bought a hybrid bike here around 2.5 years ago and have had a really lovely experience with it. Also with bringing it by to have some small adjustments done. They are a really friendly lot and really care about the products and the customers I just got my bike tuned up for a really reasonable price including some parts being changed for new ones and it was such an amazing ride back. They really did such a great job tuning it up and I'm looking forward to riding it for a bike trip later this year. The thing I love about the shop is that you're not only paying for a bike when you buy one but also for the great service they provide. I have to travel an hour across the city to get to them but it's absolutely worth it. I have recommended some friends to also get bikes from them and they've also had really lovely experiences.

I recently visited Bikeopia with a friend, both of us ready to spend around 500 euros each on bikes. Initially, the experience was great. Maurice, who seems to be the owner, greeted us with lots of energy and passion. He made us feel excited to buy bikes, even offering us a deal—two bikes that were originally 550-600 euros each for 1000 euros together, with locks included. We felt a bit pressured but were still interested. However, things took a turn when I mentioned I wanted to consult my brother, who knows a lot about bikes. As soon as I Facetimed him, Maurice's attitude changed drastically. He became hostile and made it clear that he didn’t like us getting a second opinion. My brother suggested that the bike Maurice picked might not be the best fit and that I should ask the store if they have something with different specifications, and this seemed to offend Maurice, who started making negative comments and even said he wouldn’t do business with "people like us" who want to consult others. Despite all this, we were still willing to buy from him, but Maurice's behavior made it impossible. At one point, he even accused me of recording him on my phone, which I wasn’t, and he commanded me to “put that sh*t away”. In the end, we walked away without purchasing anything, even though we really liked the bikes and the prices. It's unfortunate that Maurice's attitude and ego ruined what could have been a good sale. The rest of the staff were friendly and helpful, but the way Maurice acted was incredibly unprofessional and off-putting. additional notes: we took these photos with permission before Maurice became aggressive and volatile with us - he encouraged photos of the bikes. i was on a facetime call with my brother - not live online and nothing was being recorded.

Owner's response

Yeah phones and cameras trigger us we probably could have handled this better in retrospect,.We were open to showing your brother the bikes not to you posting them online in this manner.Your words in the shop, as well as online, left us feeling intimidated by you.

Very satisfied with my purchase. Walked in and told the mechanic I was interested in a new street or trekking bike between 400 and 600 Euros, was then asked several follow-up questions about what specifically I was looking for. Was shown several models, including an NSU RT8 that had just come into the shop and was fixed up. Was allowed to take it for a test drive up and down the street before deciding to buy it. The mechanic offered me a package deal with a lock, where the bike dropped from 600 EUR to 550 EUR and I got a lock for 50 EUR, and this price also includes a 1-year warranty. You get a discount if you pay in cash to save transaction fees. I was provided with a formal receipt and a brand new lock, and the bike runs very smoothly. They also did a quick spot-check on the bike before selling it to me to make sure everything was in order. Very satisfied overall and will recommend to everyone I know!

2024 edit: Since my first review I sold my lovely bike, moved to the US for two years and then moved back to Berlin. When I decided I was ready to invest in a bike again, I again had some trouble finding one that was the right size for me. I came back to Bikeopia and was reminded about my wonderful first experience. They had not one but several bikes for me to try! It was great to meet Maurice again - the service here is just top. You'll leave with a beautiful bike and a smile on your face. Buying a bike here is just fun. I bought my first bike since childhood here today and I am so excited about it! I am quite short (154) and have had a hard time finding a bike that fits me right (especially second hand). I walked in here and knew I was in the right place. All the guys were very friendly and informative on my bike. They didn't make me feel dumb or embarrassed to ask questions. They kindly gave me a discount and set me up with a bell and basket. They were committed to my satisfaction, not just making the sale. I'm so pleased with the experience I had and with my bike! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

This place is amazing! I went there because I wanted to repair an old bike but it was not worth the fix. Although, ended up buying one of their second hand ones and they have really affordable prices. They were very patient, super nice! I highly recommend this place if you need a bike in Berlin. 🙌🏻

Bought my first bike here. People are really friendly and all your questions are answered. Got a really amazing bike that I use everyday around the city. They take care of every little problem and you would have nothing to worry in case the bike needs repair. They let me try riding a lot of bikes around the street before selecting this one. On top of it, the staff seems to remember all the bikes they ever sold and the owner and are super friendly. Bonus points for that. They also provide the receipt and ownership information. Would recommend this store to anyone who is looking to buy a bike in Berlin. Keep doing the great work.

I forgot to write this review when I bought my bike last summer. This shop is the absolute best. I wanted to check out three shops in the area. I went here first and the other shops never had a chance. Huge selection, beyond amazing people, just an absolute vibe here. I picked out a frame and they customized it with a lot of changes exactly how I wanted. Super fast and a really good price for what I got. I love my bike and I love this shop.

Great second hand bikes for a great price. We bought two touring bikes there, and the two guys were so helpful. They even gave us some extra gear the we will need for the trip. You can feel that they love what they do.

Great shop to buy your used bike! They are attentive, intelligent, patient, and fair, and they really work to help you be happy with your bike, and they have a great fun and honest vibe in the shop. I bought my bike on a sale that they were having, after trying a handful if different ones. The one I picked had a few things I wanted to change, which they were happy to swap out, and the bike was ready to be picked up the next day. They have a warranty for any bike you buy from them, so I also came back a month later to get a problem looked at, and they fixed everything for me right on the spot without extra charge. Overall, they were just really professional and great! I would definitely recommend this shop for buying your next used bike! Update: I returned here once again, when one of my bike tubes was going flat. I had really only intended to get the tube replaced, but they offered to do both tubes and both tires for me (since the tires were really very old), again at a really great price. They had to order the parts, so it took a bit longer, but the end result was perfect. The bike runs very smoothly, thanks to their craftsmanship, and as usual, they were incredibly friendly and welcoming. I love the new tires, and so does my cat! XD
