Craig and his employees are always so kind and friendly; willing to help even when super busy in the shop. They speak English if speaking German makes you shy…fair pricing. Really a great bike shop. I’d rather go to them (1km away) and give them my business rather than the one at the end of my street!

On Sunday, I woke up to find a flat tire. THE WORST NIGHTMARE EVER, if you love riding your bike but don't know how to fix it. Luckily, I found this bike shop on Google Maps, where they helped me very kindly and quickly, so I can ride my bike to work safely, just like every day. I recommend it <3<3<3

This store has managed to always exceed my expectations in regards of quality of service, customer service and especially response time. When I needed something and it was visibly urgent, the guys from the story always found a way to help. Der Plattenladen is the first bike store in Berlin where, as a bike owner, I feel like a customer and less as necessary annoyance 😅 I couldn't recommend them enough

I was recommended this place, and my impression was very good when I entered, the owner was friendly and speaks English. However his attitude changed completely when he saw that my bike was an e-bike (which I use for my 14km daily commute). So he refused to repair my broken spikes because "we do not do electrics". Maybe I misinterpreted, but he almost sounded "racist" towards this kind of bikes :) Again, the reparation had little to do with the bike being electric, it's like if a car repair shop refused to change wheels to a Tesla "because it's electric", very strange.
Owner's response
Dear Claudio, We don't do repairs on electric bikes. In your case the request was to replace broken spokes on a rear wheel where the motor is located in the hub. It may involve completely respoking the wheel and in the worst case replacing it entirely.

I find a one star review, due to us not offering a specific service, to be a little unfair. We are quite clear about not servicing E-Bikes. However you are entitled to your opinion and maybe this review will save other people losing time by coming to us with their electric bikes.

Good luck getting it repaired. Many little shops don't offer this so maybe call first before heading somewhere else.

Craig

Fantastic, professional and super fast service - Craig did an outstanding job in repairing my bike very efficiently, and was very helpful and friendly! For non-German speakers, you'll be happy to know that this place is english-friendly. Also, you can pay by card there. Thanks Craig once again for the top service! Highly recommend.

Absolutely amazing, really kind and quick service! I needed to fix my new bike (and a bunch of accessories) as soon as possible while I was on short-term stay in the city and Greg did just that, and he’s also english-friendly – I appreciate it so much and can only recommend this place!:)

I had a problem with my SRAM hub gears and couldn't find anyone to take a look. Craig did a great job resolving the problem: my bike has never ridden better and he did it both very quickly and for a very good price (plus they take card). I'm really happy I found this place and I will definitely take my bike back there.
