Bought two bikes from them and super satisfied with their selection & service. Professional handling of bikes and easy to set up appointments for both consultation and modifications. Back in 2024 I was consulted by someone wasn’t particularly welcoming (unbothered bike bro behavior) but all my visits & discussions with their team in 2025 when deciding which bike to get was very personable: big turnaround! Glad I came again.

A few days ago I discovered that this store has a bike in stock that I would like to buy (Marin Four Corners). After email, we had a great conversation about this bike with a man named Alex, and finally I went to pick up the bike on Friday. I was looking forward to visiting the store, which according to the website looks very beautiful, and buying another new bike is always exciting. Unfortunately, the person who was behind the counter and the atmosphere in the store was the opposite of what we expected. The combination of an unpleasant and arrogant salesman with aggressive metal loud music really gave us a hard time. We rode more than 400km and then this....I'm not talking about the seller's bike experience or knowledge, but about his behavior and superiority. Marin in the US is full of enthusiastic easy-going friendly cyclists and I'm not sure Marin deserves such a hostile dealer. We were very disappointed. We also bought my 1.Marin in Germany and that was a completely different story. Maybe this salesman should go to some another store and learn a little about being friendly. I am really sorry for this.

Hey,

first of all we'd like to apologize (!) if we didn't match your expectations in case of your visit in our showroom.
It was surely not the intention of our staff to create an unpleasant customer experience!

He merely wanted to point out that, from his perspective, the seating position on the bike wasn't optimal, as Alex couldn't see you ride via mail.

Nevertheless, we want to point out that music is a matter of taste, and we hardly can considerate the distance travelled to us.
...yes, sometimes we do like to listen metal-music.

Further it's hard to judge us as a "hostile dealer" when you, nevertheless, can't complain about his "experience & knowledge".

Again, we apologize if the atmosphere didn't match your feelings related to the brand (!), we've evaluated the situation and will do better next time.

All in all you had a positive first contact via mail, as well as knowledged staff in the showroom, with not your favorite type of music playing.
Nevertheless, our colleague apologizes for the negative vibes he has given off.
We think worth than just a one-star rating. ;)

All the best!
Enjoy your ride ;)
The guy who helped me out was an absolute gem. He knew everything there is to know about bikes, and he went above and beyond to assist me w a tumbleweed custom. I'm definitely coming back after the fitting. Kudos to the shop. If you're looking for a bike shop that truly cares, this is def the place.

Owner's response

Thanks for the awesome feedback :-)

Bikes are great. But the staff (I only interacted with a guy) is rude. He won’t look at you in the eyes, won’t make you feel comfortable and won’t really guide you except if you ask detailed questions. If you know what you want, it’s a good shop. But this kind of experience makes you want to shop online. Too bad for those beautiful bikes.

Distinctly lacklustre non service. Told me there was 2 weeks waiting time and to book a time. I asked how, he recommended other bike shops - zero info lol. Another customer offered me directions thankfull. Rude and won’t be back

Owner's response

It's hard to understand how it could be considered bad service when we refer you to our colleague in the neighborhood so you don't have to wait long. Unfortunately, we can't accept all orders because, firstly, we only have one mechanic, and secondly, we're highly specialized and therefore have very few spare parts for "normal" bikes in stock. That's why we refer you to our friendly colleague nearby who can help you more quickly; that's exactly how we explained it to you. We're sorry if it came across wrong...

...

Rude. Even considering Berlin's standards. They have some interesting parts. But the main advantage is that you don't have to pay shipping or import taxes. If they compensate that by being arrogant bike bros when you pick it up in person, there's no point... I will order with international shops in future. These have a bigger selection anyway.

Nice people, nice atmosphere and I guess the coffee might be nice as well. Sadly on the technical side of things they did not live up to their reputation. Couldn´t find necessary front chainrings even though a friend found them within minutes after checking the bike. The shifting system components they did change at the back are not fully compatible and the rack which was one of the main reasons for coming into the shop in the first place was forgotten altogether and therefore they had to keep the bike for another few days. Sorry guys I quite like you personally but you´ll not see my touring bike again and the racer will not come your way at all, ever!
